Nissan row as government denies 'secret deal' to support Sunderland factory post-Brexit

I have some sympathy with them. They would not have welcomed having to deal with this so soon. Nissan have played hardball and got a deal. No doubt all the other car makers will be queuing up for a similar deal.

The question must be how much this foolish brexit decision is going to cost the taxpayer to maintain a status quo we had for nothing in the past.

Will we have to subsidise the whole of British industry in order to mitigate the damage.

Nissan is getting nothing that does not apply to the entire car industry in the U.K - and 7000 jobs have been saved for the people of Sunderland.
It's great news - try to be happy for those 7000 people and their families, you miserable boyo, Tammy :crybaby:

BTW, boyo, last week you were wailing that the gvmnt wasn't throwing more money at state schools so that History of Art would not be dumped by the examining board, even though only about 18 state schools in the U.K. offered that course in the first place - being as the leftards view it as elitist.

NOW you're whining that the gvmnt has struck a deal which has saved the jobs of 7000 people!!!

I'd like to say I'm confused, but it's clear you're happy for 7000 people to lose their livelihoods so you can whine about Brexit.
You are such a sore loser you'd happily sacrifice 7000 families welfare rather than see Brexit succeed.

What a nasty, selfish attitude. Lol.

It's ironic that Brexit will result in the UK government paying for the import duties that Nissan will pay to the EU in order to keep Nissan exports competitive.

He cant do first grade math, that is why he does not understand the implications. It would cost 7000 x 500 x years service in redundancy payments. Then 7000 x 80 in JSA, 7000 x 500 in housing benefit (average ). Then double that for the knock on effect. Then minus the taxes, N.I. and VAT paid by these 7000 x 2. Would be a lot more than the cost of the subsidy paid out

Not cut and dried yet is it, have you seen the policy document signed by all heads of state that says Britain will face import duties. A document that does not even exist yet outside of your tiny fantasy mind.

You have heard that Canada has kicked the latest EU trade deal into touch over the same thing, and the EU are spitting blood because they need to export out of the EU to survive. They also need to increase income to cover the costs of Britian's leaving the EU

Surely even you are not so dumb ?
This is hugely embarrassing for the little englanders. State support to ensure that all of british industry can compete.

We werent told about that before the referendum.

And where will the money come from ?

Yep, Britain is now free and will have to pay companies to stay in the company. So instead of that 350 million going to the NHS it'll go to big corporations (well except that there isn't any of that money left seeing as it's all gone in the pound dropping like a streaker's trousers.

Well at least the Nissan bribe was a one off.

Thousands of Vauxhall jobs at risk from Brexit

And dont you look stupid now that the truth is out and that the government has made no such deal with Nissan. What a loser you are tainted, spreading project Fears every LIE an the hope that the people will believe you and demand we stay in Europe so you can mooch of them.

Why will it have to pay companies to stay when they can set up shop in their factories when they leave ?

Wait and see what happens in the not too distant future, as so far every single Project Fear LIE has been disproven and Britain is on the way up. GDP up again after a forecast of it going down

£400 million to be clawed back from health tourists to pay for their NHS treatment is "Taking control" at its very best. Kicking Wales out of the Union will be a godsend.

And then we put massive tariffs on all GM cars and see how they like those apples. They are not concerned about the British market so let them suffer as much as we will. The same with you members of Project Fear hit you when it hurts the most and watch you cry as your areas are allocated for all you see as being right for the country by staying in Europe

You Remoaners need to quit your sissy whining and negativity, accept that YOU LOST, and get behind the UK.
It's utterly sickening how you are wishing misery on thousands of families just so you can whine about Brexit some more, boyo. Try to take it like a man! :wink_2:
