The reason we have a constitution, Bill of Rights, and electoral voting is to prevent majority rule and ensure that all are represented equally. It also ensures that dictators will never rule this country.

There will be matters that a majority always support or reject but the constitution must be followed. That is how the minorities are protected.

Of course, in order to accomplish all that, we have to actually abide by the constitution instead of pretending it's outdated and no longer relevant. It was written to stop the true democracy that has taken down other countries as well as ensuring that people hold the power and not tyrants.
