If Trump really wants it, there wll be some efforts made.
Likely won’t pan out? Maybe. But once a ball gets rolling, sometimes momentum gets going.
If Greenland is a “colony”, then so is Puerto Rico, Guam, The US Virgin Islands…This is when being a colony sucks. The Danish royal family will decide what happens to them.
Many nations have territories, usually islands, that are in a sort of limbo between dependency and independence. They’re the leftovers of decolonization. Islands that were too small to have become viable independent nations.
The USA, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Denmark all have a few. It’s a big club.
