I was skeptical when I heard--from the usual suspects--that the US' violent-crime rate was off the charts.

It is, compared to some places...

Britain’s violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed.

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa – widely considered one of the world’s most dangerous countries.

Over the decades, Britain has had some very strict gun laws – and none of them seem to help do anything but all criminals to outgun the police and average citizens. Apparently, our bleeding heart politicians haven't learned a thing!
