House Votes to Defund Obama?s Illegal Executive Order For The DREAM ACT | The Gateway Pundit

The House of Representatives voted 224–201 Thursday morning to deny funding for the Obama administration’s controversial Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. The policy, which was implemented via executive order in June 2012, effectively assumes the enactment of the DREAM Act, legislation that has failed to pass Congress on multiple occassions, and has raised concerns about executive overreach:

Republicans have argued that these orders amount to the selective enforcement of U.S. immigration laws that discourages enforcement against children who were brought to the United States illegally, or illegal immigrant adults who are not in any legal trouble. Many Republicans have dubbed Obama’s orders as “administrative amnesty.”

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) sponsored the amendment to the 2014 Department of Homeland Security spending bill, and called for its passage in late Wednesday debate by saying Obama’s orders — also known as the Morton memos — violate the Constitution.

“The point here is … the President does not have the authority to waive immigration law, nor does he have the authority to create it out of thin air, and he’s done both with these Morton memos in this respect,” King said.

The constitution says one of the duties of the president is " he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed." What he did last summer was impeachable.

Obama also violated the war powers act in Libya and nobody cared about that.

Romney should have screamed about all the illegal things obozo has done but he never criticized obozo at all!!! I think romney was hired to throw the election - like kerry in 2004.

It's about time the House Republicans grew some balls and realized they control the purse strings.

What happened to Boehner? Someone tie him up and toss him in the closet?

Where do Spending Bills originate?

Appropriation bill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to the United States Constitution (Article I, Section 7, clause 1), all bills relating to revenue, generally tax bills, must originate in the House of Representatives, consistent with the Westminster system requiring all money bills to originate in the lower house which is why the appropriations bills that are enacted begin with "H.R.", indicating a bill that originated in the House. The Constitution also states that the "Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills," so in practice, the Senate and House each drafts and considers its own bill. The Senate then "cuts-and-pastes", substituting the language of its bill of a particular appropriations bill for the language of House bill, then agrees to the bill as amended.

Hope it doesn't get funded.

These illegals should be kicked out of the country. Believe me, if you were an illegal in Mexico no one would roll out the red carpet for you.

They also need an amendment to the Constitution stating that to be a citizen of this country at least one of your parents has to be a citizen. No other country in the world recognizes those born in they're country as a citizen.

The amendment we now have was put in for the children of ex slaves. It was to insure that they would be recognized as citizens. I'm sure those that drafted it never thought we would have the pack of freeloading illegal aliens we have now.

Good!

The GOP will vote according to the prejudices of their greying, white base of voters for the next ten to fifteen years. It will cost them in the long run, but they have no choice now.

:clap2:

A huge gift to Democrats.

Republicans have lost Hispanics in 2014 and probably 2016.

Good show.

I don't know why it took a year for the House to do this. They should have defunded this immediately. How can anyone support a presidential program to let millions of foreign invaders live here?

Awww...Republicans hurt the poor innocent feelings of criminals. BIG HAIRY FUCKING DEAL! If they learned to come here THE LEGAL WAY, then maybe there wouldn't be such a big shitstorm about it.

If it hurts the GOP politically, then at least the GOP dies with DIGNITY, instead of dying on their knees with drool hanging from their chins after giving a bunch of third world trash blowjobs.

I see a blue Texas as more of a reality than I did before. :eusa_whistle:
