Around 2,500 gunshot wounds a year are recorded in Los Angeles County, not including fatalities. That is at least six people shot and wounded every day. But how do paramedics and surgeons deal with such a tide of bloodshed?

We hear so much about Chicago – why not this? And in other cities? I know we hear next to nothing here and why – they don't want to tarnish the city for tourists. But, elsewhere?
 
Los Angeles hospitals are where battlefield doctors get their training.
