Good need to know information if you are desiring to buy American made products.

Look at numbers on the barcodes.

With all the food, cadmium and lead filled trinkets and pet products now coming from China, it is best to make sure you read label at the grocery store and especially Walmart when buying food products.

Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located.

It is important to read the bar code to track it's origin.
How to read Bar Codes .... interesting!

This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.

The whole world is concerned about China-made "black hearted goods".
Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China?

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.

471 is Made in Taiwan.

This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to educate ourselves.

Businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode - remember if the first 3 digits are:
690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 FRANCE
40 - 44 GERMANY
471 ... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK

BUY USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.
We need every boost we can get! Pass this on!

If the government and legislators won't help protect us, we must help ourselves.

The bar code would apply to the integrated product but not to the ingredients therein. Just sayin'.
Its a start. Thank you for pointing that out.

I'm all in favor of deciphering any code.

Stuff we ingest requires more scrutiny though. That's why we need the "nutrition facts" labels, GMO info, etc.
I think it is a good idea to a point but there also needs protections in there for small producers. When legislation goes in and it skews the numbers in favor of large corporates it hurts everyone except for the rich. Plus when these companies pushing chemicals and GMO can get EPA and FDA exemptions for the limits of their chemicals in food products grown or manufactured to be higher than should be that's a farce and a scam on the people too.

I try to make it a point to avoid the China label. Not an easy task.
Actually found made in the USA windshield wipers at Wal-mart of all places.
Guess what? They cost a few bucks more, but the quality was far superior.
China produces cheap crap that falls apart.

This should be posted in ever store!

Just keep copying and posting to people you know. When it starts affecting markets they will do something different probably anyhow.

The 1890 Tariff regulations initiated by the republican McKinley administration forced foreign manufacturers to place the country of origin on all foreign goods. If you find an antique vase that says Made in China or Made in Japan you can count on the fact that it was made after 1890.
