Humans in deep space? Doubt it.

I do not believe humans will ever colonize another planet. We are tethered to the Earth by crucial bodily functions and are essentially slaves to water which is incredibly heavy. Did we land on the Moon? At one time I was convinced it was a true event. But now, not so much. Landing people on the Moon would be huge achievement in human history and it would not be ended for over half a century if it was an actual accomplishment. My concern is not based on lack of stars or flapping flags. I think the purported peopled Moon landings were politically staged events not a scientific breakthrough. Today with all of the new superior technolgy in our possession we have not been back. I think it would be too hard to fake it today and that is why it is not happening.

I know there is a lot being bandied about with Mars landings and such. But making that a reality is out of reach in my opinion. We are already on a space ship and that is the Earth. But we cannot get off.

We need what the Earth has and cannot survive without it. Now, we could explore with non human piloted craft operated and controlled by artificial intelligence-AI. But I believe humans are never going into the cosmos as living, breathing, lifeforms.

Sorry to burst your bubble. Do you think humans with their horrific history could engineer a way to escape and infect deep space with their spiritual and physical failures? It's not happening. The experiment is ongoing but it is at a point now where a global collapse is not out of the question.

We will be lucky if we survive much longer on our own planet.

Technology changes everything.
It will be at least a thousand years before we can really establish a presence throughout the Solar System. But it will happen. There are endless resources available in the asteroid belt and several moons of the gas giants.
That is where the next step is.

Another star is currently and probably for a millennia out of our reach.

We are only in the baby step phase of being a possible space faring race.

Thanks for your optimistic contribution. I hope you are right.

We are still a young species and the rate of new developments, especially with the advent of A.I will ensure that all can be solved eventually.

If we as a species can survive another 1000 years or so, there is no telling how far we can go. We were all born just a little too early. There will also be a time when humans will roam on this earth for 500 years or more. I fully expect that we will colonize another planet. The concept of Star Trek seems impossible today, but there may be a day when we travel FASTER than the speed of life. Obviously I couldn't even imagine how we would protect our bodies for such flight, but like all things, it will be solved eventually if we survive as a species.

Imagine if instead of military spending the world used these trillions to find a way to avoid dying? Or cancer?

We are a deeply flawed species. The most greedy people have the most power but also they are the laziest, most lacking in dynamic thought. These dumb shytes could have found a way to live another 100 years or more by now. Short term gain for an early exit from this planet (and only G-d knows their final destination). None worst than the fascist governments by the way.

I just say what I see. I'm a pragmatist.

I hope I have brightened your day.
at current technology humans could reach the nearest stars in several generations.

fiction seems to favor a possibility of ftl technology being developed. mathematically impossible (general relativity), but who knows? star trek and the rest.

another way would be the "generation ship," a team whose great grand children will step on to a new planet light years away. "cloud cookoo land" is a recent novel with that premise. highly recommended.

the most likely is in stages.

i'd start with the iss. we are paying musk billions to bring it down safely, why not put down the same to move it to a stable orbit and run it as relay and supply station . hell, in my novel trump has a casino luxury hotel with daily flights to the lunar golf course............

from there, and with technology learned in that project, we can put similar stations in increasingly distant locations until the ultimate "deep space 9" opens a wormhole to the galaxy .

With a little luck it will be found that Nasa's dog didn't eat Nasa's homework on how to get through the Van Allen belt, and it was just misplaced?

An interesting side plot in the recent series The Expanse had the Mormons building a generational ship in the Astroid Belt to build their paradise on another world.

Actually an interesting show that was more realistic on possible human development over the next couple hundred years.

we won't be seeing this in our lifetimes,

alas, it seemed so close with "one small step," but such baby steps are necessary before anyone can run.

wow that is incredible.

a similar unexplained entity appeared to 3 shepherd girls at fatima with the exact same message.

Tommy Tainant that would have been 1984. i was in cardiff about then. or perhaps at sea. did this happen?

I would love for it to be true. Dont recall the incident though..

The "stars" thing has a reasonable explanation. So does the "flapping flag." It wasn't flapping.

Still, I have my doubts too, but I do believe we've gotten that far. Mars, maybe we will land there. But they will die there. There is no hospitable place for LIGHT YEARS besides earth. Earth is our home. It is our "prison". That will change after the Return when we becom like our Father in Heaven and our older brother

If there really is some type of Galactic Council, there are probably beacons a couple light years out warning of the crazed primates on the third world from Sol.

We are the Sentinel Island of the Milky Way.

I knew an amateur radio enthusiast who was in on the plot at the time.

You people aren't permitted to worship any other gods before Him!

How could anyone assume, how would anyone know, if it's a thousand years or a few hundred years into the future?

You yourself mention technology. If you know technology and how it appears on the scene, you'd hang your head in shame here.
