Hyperbole and Salient Points

Salient points don't require hyperbole and make a writer look petty.

Well if they just had salient points then it would be a very short read. Still it is a good way to end a piece. As long as the body supports the point being made and leads up to the point of the article. Also if just make your point then others will fill it in with comments that fit their own believes or fears.

Trump made a speech recently holding a bible. The stories written could use a lot of hype and ended with him holding a bible. Yet if they just say that Trump made a speech holding a bible well more is needed. There is a salient point if he became religious all of the sudden indicating that this is now his source of strength. A strong appeal to the religious right. Or it could be he is making a strong statement that he believes he is righteous in his quest to quell the riots using the bible as a prominent feature. He can now doing anything under the cloak of being amoral individual that has lead a life of sin. .
