I am NOT driving my recalled Toyota...

Good. You'll keep the environment clean and help create American jobs by driving up demand for American cars.
 I don't care about all that. If Toyota is fucking us over, they need to be smacked.

When this story first broke, they blamed it on floor mats. I looked at my floor mat and there is no way the gas pedal could get stuck on it...too much of a gap in between.

Now they've back tracked and blamed it on something else...why should I trust them after they've already lied to me?

i dont blame you ravi.....if you have ever had a freak thing like the pedal not returning and the car keeps going....you know the fear....be safe...over being sorry

How could they not like EZ? She's the most likeable person in the world, and that irritates the shit out of me. There must be SOMETHING about her that's annoying...I've tried to find it, but it's just not there. So I am condemned to like her and support her in all she says...even if I don't agree. Which happens amazingly infrequently. Weird.

Ravi is also likeable, the poor deluded little thing. She drives me nuts and I can find plenty to disagree with her about, but for the most part she shows a tiny bit of class and humor.

You probably haven't been neg repped by her for having an opinion and called an asshole in a PM.

I think she's a classless bitch.

:lol: So you did care about the neg rep....who would have thought?

BTW, it is not permissible to discuss the contents of PMs on the board. I wonder if you'll get an infraction?

What a baby.

Sometimes she uses "to" when she should have used "too".

If that kind of thing annoys you, then go to town.

until Toyota tows it in and repairs it. Barring that, they can have it back.

I decided this before La Hood said not to drive them...why he apologized for saying that is a mystery.

And now the Prius is also screwed up?

Get some WD-40 for your sticky gas pedal.

It works like a charm! Ever since I put it on my pedal last week, I haven't been in any firey crashes.

:lol::lol:I don't give a flying F about being neg repped. I think it reflects on the lack of maturity of the person doing it to be honest.

Funny how mod whores like you seem to know all of these secret rules.

I'm sure you'll go whining to somebody about it....like you did before.

I am so glad I bought two new Fords. We gave away two other vehicles to one of those non profit groups and hope they are on the level.

I was so close to buying two Toyota's when the wife and I replaced our vehicles but changed our minds at the last minute. We know in today's age any of the manufacturers can be caught with their pants down, with all the outsourcing of just about everything to produce a product and make a decent profit this kind of nonsense isn't going away anytime soon.

If this keeps up I'll need to get a job at Walmart as a greeter, haven't worked since the late 90's, on 2nd thought, I don't have enough time to play with toys and get involved in the community politics as it is. How did we find the time to do so much more before, when we worked for 40- 60 hours a week? A subject for another thread.

Wait till someone starts mentioning that Chinese vinyl interior has an unacceptable level of lead in it.

Probably most all of the vinyl for the cars comes from China.

Buy American Buy American - support your nation and yourself.

It would be an interesting study in ideas to trace how Americans came to hate themselves. Automobiles were our life blood, they still are, they have brought great pleasure and complex negative consequences. My first Chevy, a 55 V8 with four barrel and a three speed moved to the floor was my first love. Anyway, how did Americans come to hate what they made, to look down on those who make them, especially when it provided a wonderful middle class life? Gawd, I still love the backroads, windows open, and beauty passing by.....

As a nation we sure as hell have some twisted values, when some gloat over the failure of who we are. We just bought another Buick last year and they rated Number One in Quality.

I used to believe that, Midcan. But, the last 3 American cars I purchased were all lemons. The last one I purchased I had to replace headlamps every 7-10 thousand miles. I put in 3 water pumps, my rack and pinion bar started leaking badly, my ignition went out on me in a parking lot at 10:30 at night. This was all after the 36,000 mile warranty, and before 58,000 miles on the odometer, except for the headlamps. I quit buying American, and now own a Toyota, which has given me no problems whatsoever. When the American cars start getting better marks in Consumer Report magazine, I will go back, I do wish to buy American, but not at my expense.

Brand new factory crate motors come from GM with a few of those coolant stop leak tabs and the instructions are to ues them.

Right now, I'm very happy with the Toyota. I've come out way ahead looking at my wallet. I put $6,000.00+ into the Pontiac, and the dealership kept saying it was out of warranty, and I should have bought an extended warranty. No wonder GM lost business, I know I didn't have the only problem car they produced.

I think a lot of this hullabaloo about Toyota is nothing more than the auto unions and our government trying to harm Toyota. I'm sure that some models have an accelerator problem but if things were as bad as some would have you believe, we would all be dodging and trying to get out of the path of out of control Toyota's. Our new socialist leaders will go after Honda and Nisson next with the state run media playing right along, wait and see.

I don't think the unions have anything to do with this hullabaloo, but I agree the Big 3 are jumping on this with both feet. Also, the news media. I don't see this as a big deal. Toyota will fix the problems and go back to being Toyota. It's not like GM, Ford, Chrysler, Audi, BMW, Mercedes et al have never had to recall and/or stop selling products while they dealt with a problem.

Toyota vehicles, like all other vehicles, are made by man. Everything man makes breaks sometimes. Man never has and never will build anything that will be defect free.
