ICE created a fake school with no instructors and no classes. They attracted foreign workers who paid tuition on a scam agreement that they could maintain legal foreign student status by paying tuition. They were told that there were no instructors, no classes, and the "students" never attended any of the non-existent classes and not got a report card. It was a clear trade of tuition money for the right to continue working in the country. This went on for multiple semesters and ICE finally arrested 90 of them.

innerestin'--if I'm reading this correctly...all of these students entered the US legally..signed up at the fake school..lost their legal status because the school was fake..and were detained? Full meal deal--create the criminal..and then bust them!

A total of about 250 students have now been arrested since January on immigration violations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of a sting operation by federal agents who enticed foreign-born students, mostly from India, to attend the school that marketed itself as offering graduate programs in technology and computer studies, according to ICE officials.
Many of those arrested have been deported, while others are contesting their removals. One has been allowed to stay after being granted lawful permanent resident status by an immigration judge.

I am fine with this. The feds have also gone after employers who likewise sold fake jobs to get rich but not rich enough people in on work visas.
