Why would anybody pay more money to sign up for Obamacare when paying the penalty for not signing up costs less? I don't really think you have to be Jean Dixon to figure out the future of that scenario. I also don't think you have to be Jean Dixon to figure out that young folks would rather have more money in their pockets than less money.

My perception is that if they truly believe it will fail, their best game plan would be to let it do so - and then they can rescue all of us and come out of the situation smelling like roses.

Yes, and the reason is obvious. They don't believe it's going to fail. The fact is it will be 2017 before Republicans will have any real chance at repealing the law so the best they can do is undermine the law as best they can. The 26 Republican-led states who rejected the medicaid expansion will create a coverage gap of over 5 million people in their own states.
