An Ebola-like virus is currently spreading in......you guessed it......China. It's called the "Mngl Virus" and was discovered in fruit bats.

The Mengla virus belongs to the small but deadly family of filoviruses, which includes Ebolavirus, Marburgvirus and Cuevavirus. These viruses are known to cause severe haemorrhagic fever in humans, apes and monkeys, but there is no suggestion that the Mengla virus has been transmitted to humans.

There is an especially ominous account of this discovery in Richard Preston's excellent, "The Hotzone," where the viruses airbourne potential was discovered at a laboratory holding facility in Virginia, where monkeys who had had absolutely no contact with one another, and were separated by three floors, began developing Ebola, which first materialized in animals on the lower floor and swiftly manifested in same animals on the upper floor, such was obviously spreading via an airbourne medium...

If not mistaken the Reston, Virginia, strain came from the Philippines and may have been more adaptable for transmission through the air for some reason
