For the first time in Oregon history, lawmakers have voted to expel a colleague: Rep. Mike Nearman, who helped a far-right crowd breach the state Capitol in December.

59-1 vote. All Republicans (except Nearman) voted for expulsion.

The trump Nazis in Oregon will be eager to oust their GOP representation in the state's legislature. The QAnon nuts will be out in force, running for state office, and will be shoo ins to win in the red areas of Oregon.

This is encouraging..

He helped armed protesters to enter the Capitol during a time when public access was forbidden due to Covid. Some of those protesters were "heavily armed". The only reference explaining that characterization is that some of the protesters had rifles.
As is typical of these kinds of pieces, they don't bother mentioning that openly carrying those rifles is perfectly LEGAL in Oregon. Also, the piece makes the guy sound like some kind of radical who was responsible for serious damage in this instance. Buried NINE paragraphs deep into the article:

Nearman already faces criminal misconduct charges for the incident.

Sounds a lot like the propaganda against the rioters in DC on the 6th. We've seen and heard 5 months worth of insane braying about "insurrection" and "attack against democracy" yet NOT ONE person has been charged with Insurrection, sedition or use of a firearm... no arson, either.

Obviously the right move. Is the dude not in legal jeopardy? Sounds like he abetted a pretty serious crime.
Did any democrats get in trouble over the Wisconsin Capitol breach?
From the NINTH paragraph:
"faces criminal misconduct charges"
The people he gave access to were citizens of Oregon and the only reason they were there was that they wanted to protest Covid restrictions. Those restrictions were all that made his actions technically, illegal. The piece also failed to mention that those "heavily armed" protesters were breaking NO LAW by being armed with rifles in public. Amazing, right? It's called "open carry". None of them threatened anyone with the firearms. Those who felt threatened had no excuse other than being fearful of another citizen peacefully exercising the right to actually have a gun with them in public. That's tantamount to criminalizing anyone who might cause a fearful reaction in a Leftist.

Is this relating to the short security video showing a politician leaving the building and a protester quickly entering?
If so, it just looks to me like a person leaving and a protester taking advantage of the opened door.

What Federal Building are you allowed to carry a firearm in? That's like saying it is legal to carry a firearm into a courthouse.

All that happened was a peaceful protest, where all the protesters left of their own accord. Didn’t see anyone “armed”, even if they were there is something called the Second Amendment.

Don`t know but I know there are Republicans in jail in Michigan for plotting to kidnap a governor.
