Don't they??Those retirement villages in the States seem to be a good idea.
You said you are very overweight in your OP. And totally deaf, which is probably the reason you feel so lonely, not being able to just talk to people. You think l’m overweight?
I clicked your link but I don't have a Quora account and didn't set one up.Never mind
I said it was a quote, even put in a link at the bottom.
Retirement at age 65 (to make room for the next generation) originated in Germany. What l’ve noticed in America, is how many ‘older’ people get jobs, any kind of job. If only for something to do, the socialising, the money. I met a retired classics professor who was doing cooking demos to promote a product, in a local store. Another guy served takeaway pizzas. They loved it, got them out and about, met someone new every day.
This is not so in Europe, Germany being particularly bad at tossing people on the scrap heap at 50.
I've known several that spent their retirement years travelling and playing golf. One fellow was captain of his ski patrol team, at age 85. He made it into his 90's before he passed. Many retired people do volunteer work which keeps them active.
My retired dad earns $16 per hour working as a part time valet at the local hospital.Like in museums and art galleries.
It is better to wear out than to rust out.I've known several that spent their retirement years travelling and playing golf. One fellow was captain of his ski patrol team, at age 85. He made it into his 90's before he passed.
What song is that from? Dylan? Cant quite place it.It is better to wear out than to rust out.
I knew immediately it was Morticia blabbing again after his daily pick me up . .Did you think that was me? It was reproduced from someone else.
