Some interesting State Holidays for Alabama. Isn’t it time to let the confederate worship go?

If you were planning on doing business with state offices in Alabama on Monday, you’ll have to wait.

Monday, June 7 is a state holiday in Alabama. The day is set aside to mark the birthday of Jefferson Davis, who served as president of the Confederate states from 1861-1865.

The best thing about Alabama is I-20 to get the fuck out.

Love how they celebrate Martin Luther King and Robert E Lee on the same day

You aren't a college football fan, are ya? TOO FUNNY.... As a native, I can tell you that the opinions of outsiders as to Bama's attributes don't mean anything to us. You want to hate? Stay out, you won't be missed. You want to come and enjoy it? You're welcome anytime. When the economic collapse occurs and the shit is well and truly up in the fan, 90% of this state will still be functional and at peace. The two or three large cities whose residents vote the same as you, well, they'll likely eliminate each other through violence. Those who survive and try preying on the rest of us will face some very "poor outcomes".

I'm a rambling wreck from Georgia Tech and a heck of an engineer.

Thanks... many of us do as well. Lee was a FAR more honorable man than King was. If you have the courage to question your beliefs, read a bio of both.

MLK was a great American Patriot fighting for Freedom
Lee was a Traitor fighting to protect slavery

Lee was the best general, Lincoln could of had

My condolences ;) My daughter is also one heck of an engineer, even if her degree only came from Auburn... I recall seeing a T-Shirt referring to your school while I was at a night launch of Shuttle Columbia. It wasn't intended to be insulting, just a little self-deprecating humor.
The top said this was the top 10 reasons you knew you went to GT
All of them were funny but the BEST was:
YOU HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE
AND CAN PROVE IT, MATHEMATICALLY.

While I've never been a Tech fan, I DO appreciate ANY school that kicks Notre Dame's ass from time to time...

As I said... if you have the courage, study their lives, the entirety of their lives. King may have been a peacemaker but he was also a grifter and a manslut. To each his own heroes I guess.
