It's Happening!

Bout time!
Even in a perfect world where NPR and PBS paid significant attention to insuring no political bias and/or providing equal time to both liberals and conservatives, continued federal funding in these modern times would come under scrutiny. PBS and NPR did not help itself with its bias. Now, as media outlets competing in the market, they are free to exercise as much bias as they please.

Bout time!

What?! Where will I go now to watch programming with 15-minute commercials, with a 90% female staff, no men who ever shave or have any testicular hair, a 100% left-leaning POV where the conservative view is NEVER presented, full of science programs constantly trying to make me feel guilty about eating meat?

Not really needed anymore, we get our propaganda free from the DNC media groups.

Don't worry, MSNBC and CNN are still out there to save us from our toxic masculinity.

I would not know. It has probably been at least 20 years since I've seen either. And that crap is on pay cable--- I get five news channels for free now OTA that are 1000X better.

I just wonder how long before another judge rules that Trump cannot cut funding for PBS and NPR because doing so would cause irreparable harm to the far leftist misandrist's view.

"All Things Considered" this is great news. ;)

Betcha a bunch of goon squad judges in dirty black robes are fighting to get this case when the lawuits gets filed.

LOL

Since no President has the authority to override act of Congress by decree, it should not be a hard case to win.

President Trump is stripping funding for Corporation for Public Broadcastings National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting System (PBS).

These outlets have proven they can generate revenue and funding without the US Taxpayer’s funds. I believe these brands will continue to thrive and have more autonomy without direct government funding and oversight.

/----/ Yes, they can always run ads like every other network.

Wow, two propaganda channels at once, well done!

Well, that's one vote for, "Mr Rogers could not stand on his own without government subsidies".

Anyone else think possibly the most popular children's show host of all time would need government subsidies to exist?
Well.....he didn't even have one drag queen reading stories on his show.

How and why does the Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street programming NEED federal taxpayer funds in 2025 in order to have continued success?

I know the video of Fred Rogers testifying before Congress was a powerful one and necessary at the time. But, Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street are strong enough brands now to generate royalties in the commercial marketplace that rival Disney.

Taxpayer funding for PBS accounts for anywhere between 10 and 15 percent of Public Broadcasting’s Budget. They can adjust and thrive just like all other media companies.
