"Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) came out against the coronavirus oversight committee headed by Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), saying that he thinks it is some kind of conspiracy against President Donald Trump. But Cleveland.com reported, Jordan is joining the committee he opposes anyway."

Now he wants to be one. This looks like they added a full blown partisan Trumpster to shout down anything that may be out of whack.
So needed, oversight, due to so many firms and individuals fleecing the taxpayers should be taken seriously. Adding Jordan will be something else.

"The House Government Reform and Oversight Committee was set up as “a very bipartisan initiative to stop waste, fraud and abuse, price-gouging, profiteering and the rest,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said. It has nothing to do with the Trump administration’s failed response to the pandemic."

How can he mug for the camera and grandstand if he's not on the committee? Just more political theater from the duoploy.

I believe his motive may be, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".
He will be over-seeing the oversight committee to stop them from over-reaching and using a crisis to inject more of their U.N. agenda into our lives....

OMG, please tell me he's not visiting sick and defenseless young boys while shirtless.

He can be a jerk, but he is one of the smarter republicans in the house. He ought to be on the committee he opposes, so his voice can be heard in the committee, as part of it, not whining from the outside.

Totally disagree. It is supposed to be bi-partisan and Jordan does not fit.

The democrat's idea of "oversight" is not what the GOP's understanding of "oversight" is.
The philosophical underpinning for oversight is the Constitution’s system of checks and balances among the legislature, executive, and judiciary. James Madison, known as the “Father of the Constitution”, described the system in Federalist No. 51 as establishing “subordinate distributions of power, where the constant aim is to divide and arrange the several offices in such a manner that each may be a check on the other”.

1. Democrats believe that they can order the Executive Branch as they interpret laws, or its an "abuse of power" by the Executive, and impeachable.
2. Republicans believe that the Courts ultimately decide who is interpreting laws correctly.

He is a Republican in a Democrat controlled House and Democrat controlled committee. How is that not by-partisan. They are not cosponsoring legislation. You do not welcome voices of opposing view in the same room? We don't need a bunch of yes men on these committees. That isn't what the framers had in mind. Do you think it is good that the Republican controlled Senate is a rubber stamp for whatever Trump wants and Democrats voices are largely drowned out? Or are you one of the partisans?

On legislation, Jordan doesn't write any. I believed he co-sponsored one bill. Useless in that arena. I welcome a healthy non-partisan developmental argument pertaining to oversight. A joint effort. But, as far as Jordan goes, he is extremely partisan and completely agenda driven. Compromise should be in order which he is unable to perform.

So true. He's got 6 months left to jack off this country. That's it.
