Just a reminder, this isn't normal.

They are already there thanks to Repubs facilitating the move.
This was inevitable when developing countries became advanced enough for manufacturing but maintained low costs of doing business, i.e., worker compensation, benefits and real estate, plus government subsidies. Much of the manufacturing we've been able to retain is because of cost-saving automation.

Obviously a lot of work was going to be offshored. A ton of it. This was never a surprise. We all saw it coming. That's why we stopped being a manufacturing economy and became a service economy.

Evidently MAGA somehow doesn't know this. Obviously Trump doesn't, being illiterate on macroeconomics.

Massively unsettling global economies in pursuit of restoring bygone era domestic manufacturing industries that aren't coming back isn't normal.

The prez imposing policies that have the affect of previously unseen stock market losses and a predicted recession isn't normal.

Trump’s self-inflicted tariff crisis sparks confusion, chaos and questions of competence

Trump Skips Return Of Dead U.S. Soldiers To Play Golf And Boost His Business Instead

While Trump typically goes to Florida for his $3.4 million golf weekends on Fridays, he traveled a day early this week to attend a closed-door dinner at his Doral golf resort for the Saudi LIV tour, one of his business partners that holds events at his courses.
This trip, though, will cost taxpayers at least $4.2 million because of the detour to Miami International Airport, which is located just two miles east of Trump’s Doral resort. Trump nevertheless took a Marine helicopter to fly to the golf course and back rather than ride in his motorcade.

........is not normal.

Neither is this.

What this disastrous week taught us about the Trump presidency

The true nature of America’s crisis has been revealed.

First, Trump has empowered Laura Loomer, a 9/11 conspiracy theorist and self-described “proud Islamophobe,” to purge top government officials. The head of the National Security Agency, his top deputy, and six staffers on the National Security Council have all been fired this week — seemingly at Loomer’s behest.

"Thank you President Trump for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you," Loomer wrote in a social media post. "And thank you for firing these Biden holdovers."

"NSA Director Tim Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble have been disloyal to President Trump," she added. "That is why they have been fired."

Loomer, who has spread false conspiracy theories that the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job,” did not cite specific examples of when they had been disloyal to Trump. She said they could not be trusted because they were Biden appointees.

Haugh and Noble are career officials who have spent decades working under Republican and Democratic administrations. Haugh has spent more than 30 years in the Air Force, primarily in intelligence and cyber positions. Nobles joined the NSA in 1987 and has worked her way up in the agency since then.

Why is a deranged conspiracy theorist even let in the front door of the White House and how does she get the ear of the prez on national security matters?

Consider, if you will, these startling events took place over the course of just a few days. They are not an anomaly because abnormality has become the rule during trump 2.0, not the exception. In ways that are disorienting, difficult to grasp in their magnitude, and illustrative of the enormous threat the regime poses to the stability of the country.

I will dismiss your unhinged rant because you thought this was normal for 4 years.

Exactly. And now the world knows what he is.

Some will move here, but they'll be companies that were already inclined to do so.

Smoot-Hawley Trump is ignorant on macroeconomics and history.

In times past Congress could be relied upon to stop the reckless behavior of a prez incapable of competent policy making by taking back its tariff authority. But Repubs are too fearful of The Following to do so.

You wanna see incompetent?

I'd apologize to you for exposing you as a pathetic little boy, unable to defend yourself...........but I quite enjoy it.
Defend myself against what?

As far as I can tell, you're just an impudent loser, who thinks they are accomplishing something by posting on an anonymous message board, when the fact is, that liberal democrats like yourself have been exposed as prolific liars, and disseminators of misinformation, and outright lies on a daily basis...

You are out of power losers that don't deserve the time of day in real life, so you come in here thinking that you'll be taken seriously, when in fact, even in here people are laughing at you.

You're a ridiculous clown, that is as predictable as the sun rising in the East....

So, take whatever your dominant hand is, and GFY.

15 years ago when the matter of jobs being offshored became acute Dems tried to design tax policy to discourage it. Repubs, being defenders of corporate profits under the guise of being "free market" advocates, blocked those efforts.

We want them back. Democrats just want socialism. They want things to get to the point all jobs leave the country, automation takes over, and no Americans need to work anymore and we'll just pay everyone universal basic income.

In our nation there are millions of employees who do not much of anything in varying government fields. The Covid subterfuge with all of the government employees working from "home" is an example. Real workers and families suffered for this. We saw our limits with the inflation. All of the decades of screwing with the fiat currency finally came to a head. Teh federal reserve did not raise the prime rate to10% to 12% or higher because the yearly interest on the deficit payments would go to at least two trillion dollars a year. And the yearly deficit may rise to three or four trillion dollars. In the early 1980's the Fed squeezed out the so-called bad debts. transitioning from a debit society as we lost control of the fiat currency. That was the last time it could be done as now we are a credit society.
