The Trump tax cut by reversing Blue Wall colonization of the Red Edge basically lost R house seats in Blue states while electing more R senate seats to make sure that Trump will find it easier to get appointments confirmed. But more importantly it produces incentives for jobs to move to lower tax states where aftertax income is higher. So, why belabor the obvious? Trump is rewarding his base. Don't all presidents do that?
