President Obama has been laying low for a while and will continue to do so until after the 2016 election, not wanting it to be a referendum on his record. However once the election is over, the gloves will come off like we haven't seen in 150 years. Particularly if a Republican is set to succeed him, he will not respect limitation on his authority, Constitutional or otherwise.

For example, he may abandon Guantanamo Bay by removing all U.S. personnel from that military base. He could also issue pardons to the remaining prisoners there. He will make Clinton's Pay For Pardons and stealing White House property look like child's play. Just wait: You ain't seen nothin' yet!

YES HE WILL...IF THE DEMOCRATS TAKE BACK THE SENATE. They will have 17 days (January 4-21, 2017) to suspend the filibuster (like they already did) and confirm Obama's SCOTUS appointments, EVEN IF A REPUBLICAN IS ELECTED PRESIDENT!
