Canada has been paying less than 1% to NATO, even though we pledged 2%. We just announced we cannot give money to the military due to a poor economy and lack of funds. The Canadian authorities enter major American corporations, interfering in the free market, Right to Self Determination of businesses and employees, and, attempted to generate interest in unions to increase cost to U.S companies among other nefarious activities.
BUT. When it comes to International issues, we will gladly write a cheque for $650M! Who needs a military, who needs to do heavy lifting with our allies, after all, we told Merkel of Germany that "we help in other ways", so hitting our 2% isn't needed. Doesn't Canada help "in other ways" with female issues around the world, that we don't need to give $650M to this cause?
Trump needs to get on the economic file. 15-20% Border tariff, re-write NAFTA and bring jobs back. It's for the security of America and the West to ensure this happens. America is more vital to global democracy than Canada is.
Read the comments from the state run, far left CBC. Even they can't censor all of the outrage of this massive investment, while Canadians are drowning in debt, lack of Human Rights and a stagnant system.
Trudeau promises $650M for reproductive rights on International Women's Day
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau marked International Women's Day by promising $650 million for reproductive health and rights around the world.
The money, which will be invested over a three-year period, will support projects that provide sex education, strengthen reproductive health services, and support family planning and contraceptives. It will also fund programs to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation, and supporting the right of women to get safe and legal abortions.
The figure represents a doubling of current funding, Trudeau said in Ottawa this morning.
Canada is also supporting initiatives that will accelerate the use of contraceptives by 2020.
