The moronic assertion by Trump to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton were he to ever (highly unlikely) become president, was one of the pieces of red meat that Trump was throwing out to his rabid base.

Reminiscent of African banana-republic tactics, Trump's empty threat is not only despicable, but also a desperate cry by him to retain the support of his acolytes who shout "lock her up".....
