I'm leaning towards something much closer.

Venezuela.

First of all, they seized the oil production infrastructure provided by US investors. It's a failing state no longer able to provide simple essentials for it's population. It's a banana republic run by corrupt communists. Killing commies is a noble endeavor and we've really slacked on that undertaking.

It's ripe for the taking, plus we really could just drive down there, help the rest of the piss poor turd world banana republics along the way by building a 6 lane highway through the jungles so that they can move finished products north while we move equipment and materials south.

Think about this too, there's none of that islam shit to contend with. They've got good looking babes down there that don't have to wear those fucked up ninja dresses and they practice better hygiene. They have no problem with beer and it's plentiful. There are nice beaches and resorts as well as a target rich environment with commie FARC guerrillas and narco militias. We could kill commies all day, and drink the night away with some babe on the beach.
