The U.S-Arm of the Danish Shipping and Logistics Company, Maersk has announced that they will be Halting any further Transits through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden until further notice, following a Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile Attack earlier today by the Houthi Terrorist Group in Yemen against 2 of their American-Flagged and Owned Cargo Ships, M/V Maersk Detroit and M/V Maersk Chesapeake as they were attempting to enter the Southern Red Sea via the Bab al-Mandab Strait; the Attack on the 2 Ships, which were carrying Equipment for the U.S. Military, is reported to Failed with the nearby USS Gravely (DDG-107) having Shot Down at least 2 of the Ballistic Missiles while another Impacted the Ocean near the Vessels.

The cost of shipping is through the roof.

This is not the first time Maersk has suspended shipping through the Red Sea, they did it back in November for a month, along with another shipping line. The Houthi's targeted this convoy as it was American flagged, they are specifically looking for U.S. or Israeli flagged ships, but their knowledge of this shipping is actually quite comprehensive.

They captured the cargo ship Galaxy Leader, a Bahamas flagged shipped owned by a British company, but dig deeper and you see an Israeli is co-owner of the company.

We have wasted tens of billions of dollars and more building the Littoral Combat Ships. They were supposed to be for things like this. They seem to suck so much that we cannot even use them for this. We have retired at least several of them and they were only several years old or so and we will retire more. And yet we are building more of them as we have to keep the shipyard going. Lemons at this point. In theory, they would have nirvana with this type of war theatre. We waste so much as some get incredibly rich and one day it is going to kick us in the ass.
