Man blocks black delivery driver in Oklahoma neighborhood

You've never been to Oklahoma. If you had you wouldn't make such an absurd statement. Please refrain from opining on topics on which you are woefully ignorant.
You don't know where I've been. Don't pretend you do.

And I've had neighbors from Oklahoma who were the most amazingly racist people I've ever met.
Beside that I know from history Oklahoma had some of the worst race riots in American history. Tulsa race massacre - Wikipedia
They weren't even riots...they were white on black massacres.

Don't you dare tell me I don't know about Oklahoma and racism.

There are racist people in every state. And not only was this not in Tulsa, no one that rioted in Tulsa in 1921 is still around.

If you don't like the rules...move.
What "rules" are those? Do you know homeowners were barred from giving out gate codes so deliveries could be made each day? Or are you just shooting off your mouth to win a stupid argument?
Like I said, I've done that sort of work. I doubt you have.
Are you an idiot with zero critical thinking skills? That's not an attack...that's a serious question.

From the article:

"Miller, 42, told NBC News that his customer in Edmond gave him the code to get through the neighborhood's gate."

"All we want to know is why you're in here and who gave you the gate code," the second man said. "That's all we need to know."

After Miller refused to reveal his client's personal information, the man who identified himself as Stewart said he was calling police.

This is what is wrong with America...a bunch off dumbasses who can't put two and two together without it equaling not five...but onion.

What's wrong are nosy MF'ers who don't mind their own business.

That's what HOA's and their rules are about, minding each others' business.

Further, that's why they built the gate and security system for, to know who is coming in and who is leaving.

Was Mr. Stewart a "nosy mfer"? Well, yes. Although I wouldn't have put it that way. And they do have a right to know who is on the private property.

They don't have the right to block him with their car.

And he didn't have the right to enter the community without authorization.

The person who bought the goddamned furniture gave him authorization!
Sheesh.....
Sheesh is right...the unnamed person gave authorization...and gave or a code they were not authorized to release to a third party.

The HOA representative wanted to know who that was.

You are usually so rational. Areyou having an off day?

And the purchasers' name? The HOA didn't see where supposedly he delivered the furniture to,

You have a man who entered a gated community through the security gate and was leaving with an empty truck by the same way. Now what would make somebody think some crime had been committed?

I NEVER use racism as an excuse when there are other possible explanations for behavior.
In this instance I find no other plausible likely explanation for the vigilante's actions. None!

I don't blame the driver for anything except not answering who gave him the code.

That sounds pretty suspicious doesn't it? "A homeowner in your private, gated community gave me the code...but I refuse to tell you who it was."

I'd ask myself "why won't he tell me? Because he got the code illicitly and doesn't know the name of any residents."

What other logical reason could there be?
Quite possibly. At that point the man holding the truck hostage should have phoned the police and then let the truck go. Why didn't he do that?
No one was held hostage. The driver had a phone...if he was a hostage...why didn't he call the police?

The HOA representative DID call the police. Is he required to move his vehicle. Is parking ones vehicle across a private road a crime?

I didn't see the whole video, did the HOA leader KNOW that that truck was empty?

Not a private road cause the public has access. If he had been drunk, he could still get busted for a DUI on a HOA road.

So if the guy would have been white and they stopped him for the same reason...that would have been ok.

And you're accusing them of racism?

I didn't see the whole video, did the HOA leader KNOW that that truck was empty?
Neither did I. If the HOA vigilante thought the truck was not empty, or that the driver had cargo he had no right to carry, he never made that known in an hour's worth of waiting time.

Do you find that strange? I do.

Sheesh is right...the unnamed person gave authorization...and gave or a code they were not authorized to release to a third party.
Why are you claiming this homeowner was not authorized to give a gate code to this furniture delivery truck? WHY?
Because only residents are authorized you have gate codes. If you gave them to everyone...what the fuck good are they.

Deliveries at gated HOAs are scheduled...the deliveries trucks are buzzed in or escorted. The mailman, the fedex guy and UPS might get codes... regulars. Not just anyone. That Is the purpose of having codes.

Please think before you speak.

So if the guy would have been white and they stopped him for the same reason...that would have been ok.

I don't think the truck would have been stopped for the same reason with white drivers. Are all trucks let into this gated community stopped for extended periods of time like at WWII check points?

Unless there is some bit of information completely left out of this story I have to say once again that
racism seems to be the most likely reason why two black workers would be detained for an hour when there is no other likely reason to detain these two.

That is wrong.

However, it is correct that racism is the reason that the story is even a story in the first place.

How is someone waiting for an hour suddenly news? He probably got paid just the same.

This should not be in current event forum, at best in race relations, preferably nowhere at all.

I don't think "everyone" was given these codes. I don't know why you do except to make your really
weak case seem somewhat strong. You certainly haven't shown that to be the case.

But you have a habit of making unproven claims like this. For instance when you
claimed the home owner was not "authorized" to give these furniture guys a gate code.

Please think before you make unsubstantiated claims.

Paid by the hour? Or by the job? It's certain you don't know.
It's news that someone is detained for an hour after making a delivery to a home because this just doesn't happen to other people at all.
If black HOA guys held up two white truck drivers and detained them for an hour you might suddenly find a racial element in this story.
But it's certain that people see only what they want to see.

The racism of whites makes you uncomfortable, huh?

The racism of whites is much lesser than that of any other race.

The productivity of white makes you jealous? You want those reparation bad don't you?

My Mom lives in a gated community and residents there get deliveries all throughout the day; nothing is scheduled...
