Maryland police officer shot/active shooter

Quit politicizing, you boobs, and let's catch the shooter right quick.

Well....it's another day in liberal America so a cop being shot is normal

This is a direct result of Obama, Hillary and Bernie's whining about cops that in doing their job arrest the most frequent criminals.

So much depends on the identity of the shooter. If he is the "right" colour then there cannot be any pursuit, let alone arrest, as to do either would be to risk prosecution for civil rights violations.

And your nonsense above is why your candidate will never be the president.

March 14, 2016 - Prince George's County Police Chief Henry Stawinski announced Monday that Officer Jacai Colson was inadvertently shot by a fellow officer during an ambush at a police station Sunday.
Police Chief Henry Stawinski said at a 5 p.m. press conference that an autopsy revealed that Officer Jacai Colson was inadvertently shot by a fellow responding officer during the gun battle outside the District III police station in Landover. The suspects were officially identified by police for the first time as 21-year-old Malik Ford, 18-year-old Elijah Ford and 22-year-old Michael Ford. The third brother was listed as the shooter and remains hospitalized with no-life-threatening injuries.

The three brothers will be charged with second degree murder, six counts of attempted first degree murder and nine counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony as well as additional charges. Investigators believe that the eldest brother intended to die at the hands of police. Stawinski said that police have obtained cell phone video that captures Machael Ford dictate his last will and testament just minutes before his brothers drove him to the station.

Once at the station, officials said the 22-year-old opened fire at responding officers, the police station, a passing ambulance and other vehicles. The violence that unfolded was captured on cell phone and surveillance video and will be used as evidence in the case. The 28-year-old officer -- a four-year veteran of the department assigned to our Narcotic Enforcement Division -- was on his way to the police station to meet another officer and arrived right after Michael Ford began his shooting spree.

At that time, Colson left his unmarked cruiser and began exchanging gunfire with the shooter. A total of four officers discharged their duty weapons while trying to stop the gunman. Two additional officers also responded, but did not fire their weapons. Following the ambush, Malik and Elijah Ford fled the scene, with Malik turning himself in to police at a nearby fast food restaurant shortly after the shooting spree. Elijah was taken into custody at his home in Landover shortly after his brother. Colson is survived by his parents, James and Sheila Colson, and a younger brother, Jurea.

Third Brother in Custody as Officer Mourned
Mar 14, 2016 - A third brother has been taken into custody in the attack on a Maryland police station that left an officer dead.
The Prince George's County Police Department made the announcement Monday as the investigation continues into the slaying of Officer Jacai Colson, who was fatally shot outside of the District III station Sunday, according to The Washington Post. While officials didn't release the name of the third brother, the other two have been identified as Malik and Michael Ford. Police said that while a motive is currently unknown, it is clear that the three gunmen intended to die in a gun battle with officers when they approached the station and waged the unprovoked attack.

The incident began when one of the men walked up to the station in Landover around 4:30 p.m. and opened fire outside the front doors, Police Chief Henry P. Stawinski III told reporters. As officers rushed out to stop the attack, Colson -- a four-year department veteran -- was fatally wounded in the exchange of gunfire. One of the suspects was wounded and taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police said that while a motive is currently unknown, it is clear that the three gunmen intended to die in a gun battle with officers when they approached the station and waged the unprovoked attack.

Shante Ramos, an aunt of all three suspects, said that Michael Ford suffers from Bipolar disorder and confirmed with the newspaper that he was the one who was shot. "We have no idea what sparked this," she said. "We can’t believe this is happening. We are so sad for this officer dying. We have no idea what happened."

James Colson III, the fallen officer's father, said his son was "courageous and an excellent role model" for young men. Colson graduated from Chichester High School in Boothwyn, Pa. and played football at Randolph-Macon College. "He was a great kid. A really respectful kid and just a high-character young man," his former coach, Pedro Arruza told The Washington Post. "He treated everyone with respect."
