The afterglow from Barack Obama's headline-sucking global extravaganza may prompt John McCain to unveil his running mate next week, informed sources told the Daily News on Friday.

Officials involved in the decision-making process cautioned that deliberations are extremely fluid and that McCain could still stick with his original plan and wait until Obama names his vice presidential choice.

But all these sources agreed the success of Obama's rock-star romp has forced McCain to reconsider his timetable.
