The Russian news website Pravda.ru has published an op ed written by Senator John McCain titled “Russians Deserve Better Than Putin” in which McCain affirms that he’s pro Russian but very anti-Vladimir Putin telling readers “I am pro-Russian, more pro-Russian than the regime that misrules you today.”

McCain's "Russians Deserve Better Than Putin" Op Ed is Pure Hypocrisy

McCain goes on to lecture Russians about things such as rigged elections, the Russian controlled media, Russia's global reputation which he asserts is being undermined by Putin, and even goes there on the Russian economy. He even slams Putin for his "gay propaganda" and him himself is supposedly anti-gay marriage. Seems pretty hypo' to me. or is that RINO?

I think his op ed could easily be amended by changing the word Russia to America and Putin to Obama ... check it out and tell me what you think ... -Ed

It looks very childish and very American. McCain has been exposed to liberals for so long, he's adopted their practice of diversion. What he did to Putin is no different than obama blaming Bush.

While Russia, like every other country on earth does have a dissident faction, by far the majority of Russians like their president. More Russians like their president than Americans like theirs.

McCain is a freaking dope. Useless driveling idiot...

Again – strike through the word Russian - replace it with America and you have yourself a nice op ed which could easily be printed in any U.S. publication directed at U.S. citizens and make just as much sense.

  spot on, nuff said

Americans deserve better than McCain.

Edit- 007 you bastard, you beat me to it by one minute!

Does anyone know when Old McGeezer's Senate term is up? Hopefully it's in 2014.

I think the American far right reactionaries are falling in love with Russia's new version of fascism and its leader.

McCain is right on spot about everything he says in that article.

a new putin-admirer club is either brainless or payed for by FSB :D

Thank God most Americans see Putin for what he is.
Gallup Poll: A majority of Americans turn negative toward Russia

"Putin's granting of political asylum to former NSA contractor Edward Snowden in August, and his government's targeting of gays and lesbians with fines and imprisonment for homosexual "propaganda," were cited by poll analysts as likely contributors to the changed attitudes toward Moscow.
"Since 1999, Americans have considered Russia more of an ally or a friendly nation than an unfriendly nation or an enemy," the Gallup Politics report states. "As recently as June of this year, 52% of Americans considered Russia an ally or friendly; yet three months later, that number has dropped to 44%, with 50% believing Russia is now unfriendly or an enemy of American interests."
Americans' opinions of Putin are declining as well, the report notes. Only 19% of the 1,010 adults surveyed rated Putin favorably, while 54% said they don't like what they see. The survey reported a plus-or-minus 4% margin for error."

As America goes one direction, the far right goes the opposite direction.

well, you make wrong conclusions from the facts presented - in 1999 more Americans were considering Russia to be an ally, because it was yet BEFORE putin made an 180 degree turn form democratization and westernization of Russia during the Yeltzin era towards the sovietization of the putin's Russia and moving it towards Cold War models of viewing the world and traditional anti-American stance.

Your description of Putin is why Americans views have reversed their view of Putin and Russia. His comments in the NYTimes OP certainly aroused the American public negatively. Yet the far right has gone the opposite direction as noted by comments by far right talking heads and mirrored all over USMB.
So, what conclusion was wrong?

Things have reached a new low in international intrigue when a US senator is put on the defensive by a Russian thug. Thank Hussein Obama for diminishing America's influence to the status of a 3rd world country.

No one finds it at all suspicious that polls show Americans turning against Putin and Russia but support obama and the very terrorists who killed thousands of Americans. Do polls show that the public cares more about Snowden than the pointed ignoring than Benghazi with four more dead?

Polls show just what the evil obama regime wants them to show. Dead Americans isn't on the list.

that it were just those words.

I don't think Americans hold a positive view of Putin altogether - he is a dictator and a bad one. There are tons of facts before the NYT op-ed.

But it did not help him to be seen better, that is for sure.
