While Julie Boonstra of Dexter, Mich., struggles to survive leukemia, she now also has to cope with being called a liar by the Democrat who wants to be her next senator.

And the campaign of Rep. Gary Peters is also going after television stations airing ads in which her story is featured, threatening their licenses.

The ad by Americans for Prosperity features Boonstra talking about how her insurance was canceled under Obamacare and saying that Peters' decision to vote for the law "jeopardized my health." The ads are airing in Michigan as Peters seeks the Democratic nomination to replace Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., who is not seeking re-election.

We will shove this shit up your asses until after the election.

Well what they failed to mention in the ad is that Mrs. Boonstra was able to obtain insurance through Blue Cross and her yearly out of pocket actually went down. Google it. It's there for anyone to see.

So it is ok that this Dem threatened the stations?

So it is okay to use deceptive ads? BTW, the democratic ad about throwing grandma off the cliff was dishonest too. Citizens United started this shitstorm and it's only gonna get worse.

No, I just don't trust the reporting of the Washington Examiner. It would like me posting something from The Daily Kos.

But Boonstra, in response, told the local Dexter Leader newspaper that though she has no idea whether she will break even with her new plan, as the fact-checkers claim, the uncertainty of having to restructure her health care while coping with a deadly disease is damage enough.

Imagine how much more difficult coping with a deadly disease would be with no access to health care. That would create a good deal of uncertainty, too. For millions of Americans that was a stark reality until President Obama gave them access -- and hope. For the first time in their lives, many Americans will have a future they never would have had.

Boonstra should quit her whining.

“My mother, when she got sick with ovarian cancer, she had just gotten a new job, and the insurance company was saying, ‘Well, maybe this is a pre-existing condition, so maybe we don’t have to pay your medical bills.’ So I know what it’s like to see a loved one suffer not just because they’re sick, but because of a broken health care system. This is personal for me,” then-candidate Obama said at a March 2008 campaign event in Pennsylvania.

And for millions more Americans their insurance has been cancelled due to Obamacare.
So go fuck yourself, liar.

There are more people uninsured now than before this started. Those who were able to obtain insurance likely are paying up to three times as much. Not everyone got a deal. Many are facing financial hardships if they need to keep insurance.

We had Medicaid before and could have expanded it instead of fucking up the entire system.

This would be infuriating but the source seems really questionable. The real issue here is that a senator has no right whatsoever to threaten revoking a license to control media content. That is absolutely unconstitutional and should be punishable. HOWEVER, the article does not say anything about the threat at all. It is only found in the headline. I have to wonder why that is. It just seems fishy that such a central issue (as the content of the commercial is COMPLETELY irrelevant in that matter) is not even mentioned in the body when the commercial itself is covered so well.

Except that is really little more than a deflection. The travesty here is NOT an ad that is misleading media ad. While wrong, that is MINOR in relation to a senator attempting to trash the BoR and threaten media licenses for an ad that he does not like. That should incense everyone.
