Miss Germany 2024 is an Iranian

Yes. Exactly. What does that mean for slavery in the US or Brazil and the Caribbean?
we don't have slavery in the US. Slavery in Brazil and the Caribbean was, historically, very influenced by Spanish culture, religion, custom and law. It was characteristically brutal and
insurmountable and included the 'quadroon'
rule designating an individual with ONE negro
grandparent to be a slave. Manumission was
possible but dependent on religion, to wit---the Inquisition came along with the conquistadors

The Sugar Jews came from Amsterdam to Recif, Brazil..and became stockholders in slave ships. Had nothing to do with the Spanish.

When the British took over some came to New Amsterdam and others moved to the Caribbean. Lots of Irish too... including single Irish women.

the jews of Amsterdam at that time were refugees from the Inquisition in Spain and Portugal. At that time they spoke the hebraized form of Spanish ---Ladino, and continued to engage in the only commercial fields opened to them---artisan or merchandizing. In Amsterdam that meant shipping. The jews of Brazil still speak Ladino and the first synagogue in New Amsterdam,
(Manhattan) is still the "spanish and portugese synagogue" SHEARITH ISRAEL (gates of israel)
