Why shouldn't parents exercise influence over their kids? It seems to me that's what any good parent should do. If you don't influence than, then a bunch of charlatans and frauds will.

and don't blindly following without understanding the consequences of these paths.

We neither want inside influences or other outside influences "brainwashing" anyone.

We'd want people to have balanced guidance. But the people who vote for
certain policies to take responsibility for those costs, not dump on someone else.

I argue that all parents should be taught that kids don't develop a fully
mature adult brain until age 21-25 -- so you know what you are getting into
BEFORE you have sex and have children.

Parents SHOULD be required to accept legal and FINANCIAL responsibility
for their children until they are financially able to pay their own costs and consequences,
and understand this will likely exceed 18.
So if you can't afford to be responsible for as long as it takes until your kids are,
then either sign an agreement with the kids for when they agree to take this on,
or don't have kids. Go adopt under terms you are only responsible for a fixed time,
and not for life until that person becomes legally and financially responsible on their own.

I think citizenship should rely on having a legal guardian accept this
cost for each person who can't maintain on their own.

So it would force people to get educated and take financial responsibility
if you are going to have rights and privileges as a legal citizen.

And if not, you stay under the guardianship of someone who
does accept financial responsibility as a taxpayer
for the person, including the costs of policies being voted on.
