Not surprising at all. Socialism doesn't work. Democrats are losing Independents badly. Look out 'cause 2022 is coming up fast!

Did they say GOP or "trump"?

I bet if they put "trump" in the poll question instead of "GOP", people would pick the Democrats.

Transient survey, taken to close to a major event. A snapshot in time, taken too close for focus and realistic impact on future.

2022?
Remember what Stalin's secretary said: "It's not who votes that counts, but who counts the votes."
The current pro-Marxist leadership has made it clear that they will not agree to go back to the voting process whereby the state legislators are in charge of their states voting process and even want it federalized.
We're looking at a pro-One-Party only government. Once that officially happens, usher in the oppression, persecution, tyranny, mass arrests and murder.

Dems are trying to create a 2 class system, the elite political ruling class and their henchmen, and a slave class to serve them.

Methinks you forget history. History shows that the party in power almost always loses big in the midterms. Even Dems privately acknowledge that 2022 is going to be a beat down.

Neither does capitalism. That's why our economy has been a blend of capitalism and socialism for almost 100 years.
Don't count the 2020 chickens before they hatch. Long way to go.

The poll was started the day after the Afghanistan deadline.

At the height of the howling.

No doubt, but not on reaction of event 2 1/2 weeks old. You speak of the balancing effect in the electorate, as the pendulum swings. It has almost always worked that way, whether there was a major event perceived or promoted as adverse or not.
I am just saying polling very close to an event are not indicative of future events, most of the time. Think of surveys on guns taken shortly after a major deadly shooting event vs 6 months or more down the road. This is why legislation starts but fails to keep traction. When legislatures move quickly, you end up with crap legislation full of unintended consequences and overreach, to be later regretted by the public, such the Patriot Act.
