More evidence that Boehner is worst Speaker ever.

Pelosi was a much better speaker than Boehner

What the heck has Boehner done in six months?

The guy hasn't done shit

Town Cryer is the worst. Bush was the worst president. Both Republican policies are the worst.

At least they're consistent. You know what you are getting.

so are you Dean......and we dont even have to read your posts anymore your so consistent.....we know what we are getting....

It absolutely does not.

Care to elaborate?

Sure.

Conservative type of governments include Oligarchy, Monarchy, Theocracy, Aristocracy, Plutocracy, Corportatism/Fascism, and Totalitarism.

They don't support less power. They support less democracy. And more power into the hands of a small monied elite or rulers who have the bloodline (As in given by a deity) or people with the most guns.
like the KENNEDY'S AND JAY ROCKEFELLER ???

the republican stupidity has become so entrenched that they have no shred of integrity left.

I find myself not even wanting to discuss any of these issues with them anymore.

Its like trying to reason with an insane person who has been on the wrong medication for six months.

Exactly correct. From the posters who don't have a clue as to the facts, to the deflection artists, like in this thread, to the thread derailers, who do anything they can to muddy the water, this place has become overrun with immature hacks.

so whats the big deal? we still have air traffic controllers and flights are still working. maybe they should just fire everyone else and make them get real jobs

We need a real leader like Nancy Pelosi back, huh?

No she didn't, which is why the FAA has gotten 20 EXTENSIONS and Congress convened without passing the 21st one.
Under Pelosi, a budget was never passed even when the Dee party held all th power.
Talk about hypocrisy.

I am being serious here... if planes are still flying and air traffic towers are manned, what is the point of the rest of the people?

Yeah, why are we talking about Pelosi, when the topic is about Boehner? It's about Boehner!

He is ridiculous. Crying like he does, that's a warning sign to me right there! Man up, cry in private, what the hell is wrong with you.

Now he refuses to talk to the President of the United States anymore? How irresponsible is that? I'm sick of these people who are willing to hurt our country as long as it hurts Obama. Traitors. Nothing less than traitors, as far as I'm concerned.

Now he refuses to talk to the President of the United States anymore? How irresponsible is that?

Actually he has no reason to talk to the president, this is his responsibility alone, as the House is Constitutionally mandated to address matters of revenue and spending.

My goodness, the entire crew of the DNC spin machine landed here on planet USMB.

Sorry, trying to clean up President Obama's inept administration by smearing patriots like House Republicans who aren't manipulated by Obama's dictatorial soliquy invitationals will only appeal to a smaller and smaller base as Obama's unemployment numbers go higher and higher.

Go home, have a nice weekend, dears. Prepare yourselves for the 2012 election in which scheming Obama who can't put together a balanced budget gets trounced worse than the landslide that booted Carter from office with Republican President Ronald Reagan's spectacular win. :)

That's a nice little spin that ignores that House Speaker Boehner has told Obama he has to control his spending and he has to do it now.

The real trouble is, Obama is not listening, he's just yammering and pointing fingers because he can't accept the paying back part of his spending as reality.

Consistent concealment of this with throwing cream pies at good guys always comes to no good.

America wants the debts paid in full and the budget balanced. We can do a grass-roots end to spendthrifts in the White House.

Aww Koosh, we worked so well together earlier :(

"This weekend's turn of events have shifted the responsibility of raising the debt ceiling and reducing the deficit to Congress -- and away from President Obama.
Obama and congressional leaders from both parties met at the White House on Saturday morning, and the two branches of government agreed to go their separate ways.
The president blasted lawmakers for playing "reckless political games" and told them to go back to work."

Responsibility for debt talks shifts to Congress, away from Obama - TheHill.com

In a statement from White House press secretary Jay Carney, the administration said Congress "should be responsible and do its job, avoiding default and cutting the deficit."
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) reasserted his intention to do just that, issuing a statement that didn't even mention the president or the administration.

"[O]ver this weekend Congress will forge a responsible path forward," the Speaker said. "House and Senate leaders will be working to find a bipartisan solution to significantly reduce Washington spending and preserve the full faith and credit of the United States."

And, to emphasize responsibility now lies with Congress, Boehner and the congressional held their own meeting at the Capitol Saturday evening.
Pelosi and Reid left the meeting with Boehner and McConnell after less than an hour, retreating to Pelosi's office across statuary hall in the Capitol.
The two Democratic leaders refused to answer repeated questions from reporters. McConnell returned to the Senate side of the Capitol minutes later.

On Friday evening the Speaker announced that he was ending on-again-off-again talks with the White House with only days remaining before the Aug. 2 deadline when the U.S. will exceed its borrowing authority.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), along with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Boehner met in the Cabinet Room with the president and vice president for a brief 50 minutes Saturday morning.
"The President wanted to know that there was a plan for preventing national default," McConnell said in a statement released after the meeting. "The bipartisan leadership in Congress is committed to working on new legislation that will prevent default while substantially reducing Washington spending."
The Speaker told his colleagues that any deal will be a product of congressional leadership - not a compromise struck with the White House, the Republican source said, noting that "strategically not working with the president, but with the Senate could be better for him."
Boehner was backed up by Democratic leaders Reid and Pelosi, when he said to Obama, "Mr. President, I need to deal with the House and the Senate because we [the White House and Congress] aren't getting anywhere," the source said.
The White House didn't fight to be a remain a part of the debate of spending cuts, and entitlement and tax reform but Carney said in the statement: "Congress should refrain from playing reckless political games with our economy."
Saturday's moves are a reversal from earlier this week when it appeared that a Senate plan could give the responsibility for raising the nation's debt limit almost entirely to the president.
But Reid postponed plans for the upper chamber to begin proceedings on a contingency plan he had negotiated with McConnell, who floated the original idea. ???????
The White House did issue the legislators one demand: Obama again dug in on refusing to sign a short-term deal.
"The president restated his opposition to a short-term extension of the debt ceiling, explaining that a short-term extension could cause our country’s credit rating to be downgraded, causing harm to our economy and causing every American to pay higher credit cards rates and more for home and car loans," Carney said.

Fear tactics from Obama??, i ask WTF????
Koosh, btw, boehner didn't cry ;)

On a personal note, I think boehner should go golfing for about 10 days. :eusa_whistle:

What planet do you live on?

First, the FAA has not had a proper funding bill since the last one ran out in 2007. Who was Speaker for the last 4 years again?

Second, the House passed a bill funding the FAA for 4 years, and the Senate refused to pass it. Come to think of it, the Senate hasn't passed a budget for over 800 days now. How is that Boehner's fault?

Third, you really need to get your hands on some better synthahol. You should be able to throw off the effects and make sober posts.

Meh - a true hack never backs up their bullshit. Truthmatters always has links, so my ruling is: No Hack!

I believe they were filibustered in the Senate. Not Speaker Pelosi's turf.
