More Truth About Pope Francis

Not on the same scale as the atheists with Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin and others that mass murdered how many?
40, 50 million?

Probably nowhere near...

Oh, wait, I thought that all those people were killed because they had been in states of civil war for decades, and the winners killed the losers, which is usually what happens after a civil war.

Had little to do with "atheism" or "Communism" or whatever. It had to do with the fact that you had Chen or Ivan at your mercy, and you were fresh out of mercy.

Mao in a civil war after 1949? :cuckoo::cuckoo:
He slaughtered 20 million after he took power and 40 million before
Stalin in a civil war?:cuckoo::cuckoo:
He slaughtered 6 million in the Gulags alone and another 5 million during WWII.
Pol Pot slaughtered 3 million after he took power.

It's not anger it's contempt.

The root sin is the same.

Definition of CONTEMPT
1
a : the act of despising : the state of mind of one who despises : disdain
b : lack of respect or reverence for something
2
: the state of being despised
3
: willful disobedience to or open disrespect of a court, judge, or legislative body

Definition of ANGER
1
: a strong feeling of displeasure and usually of antagonism
2
: rage 2

Contempt and anger are two completely different things.

I said the root sin is the same. not that those two emotions are the same. And the root is pride.

So what is this "sin"

Having no reverence or respect is not the same as anger.

Wow, you are fucking obtuse, aren't you?

Mao didn't slaughter anyone personally. Other Chinese people did. And they were largely happy to do it. This is the point you don't get.

The Chinese people didn't suddenly turn savage because Mao showed up and said, "Atheism! Communism! Let's go kill some people!"

Nope. The fact of the matter is, at that point in history, life had already become a devalued commodity. China had been in a state of war and invasion for decades. One might even argue all the way back to the Opium Wars and Taiping Rebellion of the 19th century. And while you might bemoan the "40 million" (not really anywhere near) killed in the aftermath, the fact is, most Chinese were damned happy to finally have someone in charge who could actually run the country and keep the streets safe at night and make the trains run on time.

Much the same about Stalin. WWI and the Russian Civil war had devalued life in a way Americans would never understand and hopefully never will. Not surprisingly, a recent poll of Russians showed they consider Stalin the third greatest figure in their history. (The first and second were a Meidval saint and the Prime Minister who ended Serfdom.) So why we Westerners wring our hands about those millions he killed, Russians remember he was the guy who beat Hitler (who wanted to exterminate them completely) and made the USSR a great power.

Finally, Pol Pot, the third Plutocrat Bogeyman. They like to pretend that Nixon's illegal war didn't happen, or that the areas bombed in the East of Cambodia (nearly a million killed) had driven angry people west and into the arms of the Khmer Rogue.

But it's always easier to ignore everything that happened before. Because Communism is evil. Really.
