Morons Protest Keystone Pipeline

GOP- the only party in the modern world fighting alternative energy, science, and social reality- keep it up, the real morons. Brainwashed functional idiots....slowly disappearing and dying off, individually and as a party, huddling together on the Pub Propaganda Machine...keep it up!

Hey franco, are you using solar power to run your computer right now? Wind turbine?

Are you cooking on a wood stove tonight? Ah lighting candles? What type of alternative energy are you using?

You seem to be such a great cheerleader for it. I'd love to know what you're doing to heat your house or apartment.

Wood stove?

Or are you using electricity? From coal powered plants? Or nuclear powered? Inquiring minds need to know :eusa_angel:

Oh and do you drive an electric car that gets charged up off fossil fuels or solar energy?

I'm really curious.

Why are they protesting it?

I'd sure like to know why it's just the Keystone.

Just a simple question folks..
Compared to a 1 million barrel oil tanker traveling 1 mile that on the open ocean to 350 barrels traveling in one mile of pipeline ON LAND with 6 monitors per every mile which would in case of an accident kill more wildlife, pollute more area?

Forward with more costly, ineffecient, alternative energy technologies......for the common regressive good !!!

Well the Rockefellers and other wealthy Americans are funding the key protests. It's not a conspiracy theory; it's been validated. Check this out. The article is worth the read.

Rockefeller's behind "scruffy little outfit"

From the article:

In the interest of fairness and transparency, McKibben should fully disclose 350.org’s funding and the Rockefellers and other charitable foundations that have been bankrolling the anti-Keystone campaign should come out from the shadows.

Since 2006, McKibben has led three campaigns: Step it Up, 1Sky and 350.org. Each campaign built on the previous one. In the summer of 2006, Step it Up organized a protest walk across Vermont to push for a moratorium on coal-fired power plants and other federal actions.

Created in 2007, 1Sky began a national movement to jump-start a clean energy economy. 350.org built on 1Sky and in April of 2011, the two campaigns officially merged.

More than half of the US$10-million came from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF), the Rockefeller Family Fund and the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy, where McKibben, a trustee, was paid US$25,000 per year (2001-09). Since 2007, the Rockefellers have paid US$4-million towards 1Sky and 350.org, tax returns say.

The Schumann Center provided US$1.5-million to McKibben’s three campaigns as well as US$2.7-million to fund the Environmental Journalism Program at Middlebury College, in Vermont, where McKibben is on staff.

The founders of the Schumann Center were John J. Schumann Jr. and Florence Ford, a former president of General Motors Acceptance Corp. and the daughter of one of the founders of IBM, respectively.

Perspective is neither a Liberal's nor environmentalist's stronger suit.

Yes you are right.. You'd think something as simple as 1 million barrels being larger then 350 barrels would be fairly self evident..
but remember many of the elitist crowd grew up in an educational system that values self-esteem over facts.

Or the number of oil tanker spills by rail? The numbers are going thru the roof . Latest spill was in Minnesota.

I don't see any protestors. Do you see any protestors?

And especially not a Misinformation Voter's suit at all.

Somehow a pipeline 1/10 the size of the Keystone XL leaked 22,000 barrels of tar sand and chemical solvents, so obviously the number of barrels in a mile is meaningless to the size of the leak, but that disinformation is infinitely important to the Misinformation Voter.

A little more difficult to stop a leaking tanker, no?

As you well know, the purpose of the Keystone XL pipeline is to allow Canada to export their products ON TANKERS taking advantage of the deep water ports in the Gulf. So the Keystone XL does not eliminate the potential tanker leaks from the equation, but instead ADDS in more pipeline leak potential to the equation.
BRILLIANT!

Rail shipments will quadruple this year alone. To refineries, not tankers.

Refiners have spent years and billions of dollars preparing for the oil, regardless of how it gets there.

The majority of oil imported to the US is from the following ten countries:
Canada
Mexico
Saudi Arabia
Venezuela
Nigeria
Angola
Iraq
Algeria
United Kingdom
Brazil

We already get most of our oil from Canada and do not need the expense of the XL that benefits no one but Canada. To be refined in the Gulf is a no brainier. Cheaper for us to import then to drill and refine.
We buy oil on the market and sell our oil on the market. Has something to do with the grade of crude oil we import and the our oil we export.

Notice how the CON$ move the goal posts when their tanker BS is shot down.

To use the previously established rationalization, each rail car carries 150 to 250 barrels of oil.

If you prefer the oil arrive by choo-choo, so be it. More risk, more cost.
Knock yourself out, bub.
