US got its citizen out of the way before we drop bombs inside Syria. This could not have been accomplished without Bashir Assad. We are going to bomb ISIS and do his work for him and Iran. 12 months ago Obama was going to bomb Assads forces. Now we have cut a deal. Assad gets to stay in power, Iran keeps its ally and maintains influence in Iraq, US turns its back on pro democracy groups in Syria fighting Assad, but ISIS gets whacked. It's a mess. Saddam was a cornerstone. Remove him and whole place is now fucked up. His Ba'ath Party would have eliminated a group like ISIS.
