That's part of the reason. The other part might be the money that the state gets from the Federal Govt. in medicaid reimbursement. Sending the patients to a federal Trump facility would mean the money would be lost to the state government.

So, Cuomo begged Trump for more hospital beds. Trump delivers the largest hospital in NY at the Javitz center at our expense............and sends a Navy hospital ship to NY at our expense. Neither are utilized, and are now gone.

Meanwhile, instead of sending Chinese Virus patients to those places, Cuomo sends them to Nursing Homes where the most vulnerable live. Hmmmmm............seems like he is trying to solve his budget crisis by killing off Grandma and Grandpa by the thousands with the Chinese Virus.
