No urinals on the new Ford Aircraft carriers

Urinals are massively better to go #1 for a guy. If you use a toilet, you have to lift a lid, spray can go all over. Cause 5X the cleanup work. more Ridiculous PC hogwash.

"Spray can go all over"? :wtf:

They prolly don't have sailors on aircraft carriers who are blind.

It can and it does and it will. The taller you are the more the possible mess, trust me. Check out the floor and toilets in a public bathroom sometime. Get down and crawl around and really take samples.

Even around single urinals the floor below is always wet causing wide stance to keep clean shoes. I prefer the long multi-dick bathtup type urinals.

I will sit at home to avoid any extra cleanup. Morning wood is no help. Takes 2 hands to hold it.

Pass! I suppose everyone has to have a hobby, though. Have fun!

Yea it's six months old just learned about so like a 13 billion dollar ship and they couldn't afford urinals?

170408-N-WZ792-198 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 8, 2017) The future USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) underway on its own power for the first time. The first-of-class ship -- the first new U.S. aircraft carrier design in 40 years -- will spend several days conducting builder's sea trials, a comprehensive test of many of the ship's key systems and technologies. The new aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford has all sorts of high-tech gear equipped for 21st century naval warfare. But there is one thing that male sailors will notice is no longer available: Urinals.

What's yer point?

Much as it pains me to admit it, Fake John Wayne is exactly right. I don't have a urinal at home either, unless you count the woods.

Urinals are like Facebook. When those Nosebook addicts tried to get me onto the same addiction I asked 'em, "what will this give me that I don't already have?" Nobody ever came up with an answer.

Now come up with a story about an aircraft carrier with no toilets, and you'll have a thread.
they are changing things for a small percentage of the ship's complement--not very efficient
don't toilets use more water? which the ship has to produce
I was on 4 naval ships......unless the women's compartments are near full capacity, they have it easier than the men
..also, if you can't fill up their compartment, it's inefficient use of the compartment--wasting energy/space/etc

Wait, hold up.

A ship --- sailing on the sea --- has to "produce water" for flushing toilets?

This is not a rocket ship yanno. That means it ain't rocket science.

I don't care about urinals on an aircraft carrier, but yes in fact, toilets using more water than urinals would affect a ship, since those ships have to you know dispose of the waste water appropriately.

Unless you just want our aircraft carriers dumping their waste water into the ocean.

It's really just a matter of practicality and efficiency (space saving): a toilet is just a "low-profile" urinal that you can either stand over or sit on.

The 2018 ford carriers all come with toilets that identify as urinals.

Why don't you want male sailors to have urinals?

That's the dumbest question I've heard all day. What makes you think I don't want men to have urinals? I don't rally care. Believe it or not, I really don't spend much time worrying about where sailors piss. If that's your biggest concern, you got a problem.

Maybe he likes to shake it for them when they're finished.

Check out the floors when there is a line of urinals and you'll see the same piss all over the place, walls and floors. So what difference does it make?

So it feels more like home, amirite?

I don't have a urinal at home, you?

What if they had a patch of grass and a hedge on deck? :D
Maybe since there are a lot more female sailors these days, they didn't have to worry about which was a Little Boys Room and which was a Little Girls Room. Just order and install toilets that everyone can use; hang the signs later.

Come to think of it I've seen it done that way in about a million convenience stores and restaurants. Have yet to see anyone complaining to the manager that "there's no urinal in there".

I dunno, seems like a crappy thing to be pissed off about.
Just lots of women complaining that the men don’t lift the seat or don’t put the seat down when finished.

Urinals are quicker. During a battle, seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Who goes to take a piss break during a battle? Do they tell the other side, hold on there a minute hoss I gotta pee? What's next a cigarette and lunch break?

The "seat up" and "seat down" rules are enforced at home by wives and daughters but who will enforce them on an aircraft carrier. So absent the urinal the guys with bad aim and crooked barrels will be pissing all over the place and this will become a major issue.

Mostly with the unrated seamen and airmen who have to clean the heads.

Perhaps the urinals were tossed because too many rust pickers were eating the big white mints?

I'll just mark that down as a big old YES.

Using urinals is much quicker, take less room, are cleaner, and use less water than toilets. Removing them is an example of the stupidity that follows the feminization of the military.

I say it's a conservative move. You can either have a piece of equipment that does one thing for X amount of dollars, or you can have a piece of equipment that does 2 things for the same amount (possibly slightly more) of dollars.

It's a no-brainer!

Damn you cowboy, that's the best post you've made since you brought up Jo Ann Castle.

This is two days in a row now being right. Get a hold of yourself.
Telling him to "get ahold of" himself is ironic is a thread about no urinals on The USS Ford.

I don't like the low urinal either. give me 36" 48" up, big long trough you can hang over. Those low ones always have more puddles below. I think "they" miss on purpose? Makes me angry!

Please don't ask me about the scratched mirrors or removal of said item from public restrooms. Burns my rear end too! Thanks.
