Not the middle of nowhere
The laughs/gifts just keep coming even after the holiday season........

Turns out......the NOAA has been engaged in scientific fraud:spinner::spinner::spinner:

However, it now seems that the paper’s certainty is at best misplaced, at worst outright dishonest. Not unlike Michael Mann’s discredited Hockey Stick graph it appears to depend on cherry-picked data and misleading projections in defiance of real-world evidence.
The alleged fraud was uncovered by Mike Wallace, a hydrologist with nearly 30 years’ experience now working towards his PhD at the University of New Mexico. While studying a chart produced by Feely and Sabine, apparently showing a strong correlation between rising atmospheric CO2 levels and falling oceanic pH levels, Wallace noticed that some key information had been omitted.

NOAAgate how ocean acidification could turn out to be the biggest con since Michael Mann s Hockey Stick - Breitbart

It's great that this story is getting some wider media attention. Most people don't get an exposure to climate science bullshit so they just assume everything is being done on the up-and-up.

You'd think deniers would figure out by now how it's never a good idea to parrot WUWT conspiracy theories. But nope, they never learn. They always go running back for more humiliation.

We could carefully explain the science to them, but there's little point to doing so. They're too emotionally invested in not learning. The cult has commanded them to say all the mainstream science is fake, hence that's what they're going to say.

Abstract
Today's surface ocean is saturated with respect to calcium carbonate, but increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations are reducing ocean pH and carbonate ion concentrations, and thus the level of calcium carbonate saturation. Experimental evidence suggests that if these trends continue, key marine organisms—such as corals and some plankton—will have difficulty maintaining their external calcium carbonate skeletons. Here we use 13 models of the ocean–carbon cycle to assess calcium carbonate saturation under the IS92a 'business-as-usual' scenario for future emissions of anthropogenic carbon dioxide. In our projections, Southern Ocean surface waters will begin to become undersaturated with respect to aragonite, a metastable form of calcium carbonate, by the year 2050. By 2100, this undersaturation could extend throughout the entire Southern Ocean and into the subarctic Pacific Ocean. When live pteropods were exposed to our predicted level of undersaturation during a two-day shipboard experiment, their aragonite shells showed notable dissolution. Our findings indicate that conditions detrimental to high-latitude ecosystems could develop within decades, not centuries as suggested previously.

From real scientists, in a peer reviewed journal, not a shit rag like Breitbart.

Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration is expected to exceed 500 parts per million and global temperatures to rise by at least 2°C by 2050 to 2100, values that significantly exceed those of at least the past 420,000 years during which most extant marine organisms evolved. Under conditions expected in the 21st century, global warming and ocean acidification will compromise carbonate accretion, with corals becoming increasingly rare on reef systems. The result will be less diverse reef communities and carbonate reef structures that fail to be maintained. Climate change also exacerbates local stresses from declining water quality and overexploitation of key species, driving reefs increasingly toward the tipping point for functional collapse. This review presents future scenarios for coral reefs that predict increasingly serious consequences for reef-associated fisheries, tourism, coastal protection, and people. As the International Year of the Reef 2008 begins, scaled-up management intervention and decisive action on global emissions are required if the loss of coral-dominated ecosystems is to be avoided.

    Abstract
Anthropogenic elevation of atmospheric carbon dioxide (pCO2) is making the oceans more acidic, thereby reducing their degree of saturation with respect to calcium carbonate (CaCO3). There is mounting concern over the impact that future CO2-induced reductions in the CaCO3 saturation state of seawater will have on marine organisms that construct their shells and skeletons from this mineral. Here, we present the results of 60 d laboratory experiments in which we investigated the effects of CO2-induced ocean acidification on calcification in 18 benthic marine organisms. Species were selected to span a broad taxonomic range (crustacea, cnidaria, echinoidea, rhodophyta, chlorophyta, gastropoda, bivalvia, annelida) and included organisms producing aragonite, low-Mg calcite, and high-Mg calcite forms of CaCO3. We show that 10 of the 18 species studied exhibited reduced rates of net calcification and, in some cases, net dissolution under elevated pCO2. However, in seven species, net calcification increased under the intermediate and/or highest levels of pCO2, and one species showed no response at all. These varied responses may reflect differences amongst organisms in their ability to regulate pH at the site of calcification, in the extent to which their outer shell layer is protected by an organic covering, in the solubility of their shell or skeletal mineral, and in the extent to which they utilize photosynthesis. Whatever the specific mechanism(s) involved, our results suggest that the impact of elevated atmospheric pCO2 on marine calcification is more varied than previously thought.

And many more articles from real scientists.

omitting critical information isn't science.....at least in my understanding of science = the understanding of most. Even Einstein wrote about the tragic error scientists make when inconvenient information is omitted from any study. Not going to bother to find the quote......

Calling science, science when you are basing computer based model projections and omitting decades of data so your shit looks good is fucking sad by any measure!!!

Clearly.....science is not what it once was........its now about as scientific as social science.:bye1:

When an agenda is involved, you can be sure of one thing: all bets are off. What you get is rigged science!!!!:gay::gay::gay:

And all three papers Old Crock posts up make the statement that any lowering of PH is all man caused but fail to provide any proof. All three make this statement without evidence and without doing the science to find out what is truly causing the 0.01 level drop.. (coincidentally the areas of PH drop are very localized and not ocean wide)The papers all us supposition and all these papers are peer reviewed.. I find it very disgusting that these pieces of trash passed peer review with supposition and conjecture touted as truth.

The proof would be the direct pH measurements, dumbass.

Yes, we know you say the measurements are forged, because your cult commands you to say it. Just the ones you don't like, of course. If you find a measurement you like, you believe it without question.

The only pissdrinkers chugging this particular cup of fresh warm denier cult urine are the usual denier blogs, though McIntyre notably wouldn't touch it. Nobody outside of denierstan wants anything to do with it. The mainstream media is particularly gun shy about these things. They've been burned before when they fell for denier lies, and they know better now. Deniers are considered by everyone to be toxic, even by FOX. That's actually rather fortunate for the producers of the piss, as Dr. Feely would certainly have grounds for a libel suit if the slurs were widely disseminated.

well dude/dudetter, why not start splainnen some of that there science stuff, show that lab work from the experiment that was done! That is what we're all sort of waiting on!!!!

The AGWCult are Nazis. Total, fucking Nazis.

"When Wallace emailed his query to Feely and Sabine, however, he found them less than helpful.

Sabine replied that it was inappropriate for Wallace to impugn the “motives or quality of our science” and warned that if he continued in this manner “you will not last long in your career.” Having provided Wallace with a few links – all of which turned out to be useless – he concluded his email by saying “I hope you will refrain from contacting me again.”

If you cant refrain from talking about it, I suggest you hook up with g5000 and take turns with your GS fetish

I find it repulsive, but then again, I find you even more so

The AGWCult are Nazis who cannot tolerate dissent

Can you picture Einstein, or any real scientist saying, "that it was inappropriate for Wallace to impugn the “motives or quality of our science” and warned that if he continued in this manner “you will not last long in your career.”

AGWCult are dangerous Nazis

Not wanting to talk with someone who calls you a fraud makes someone a Nazi? That's a peculiar definition of Nazism you have. You'd have to be insanely stupid or dishonest to say such a thing. Oh wait, it's Frank.

Frank, you're a sociopathic crybaby who has nothing useful to offer to any conversation. That's why nobody wants to talk to you. People who don't want to talk to you aren't Nazis. It is a normal and intelligent thing to not allow sociopathic crybabies to waste your time.

Wallace flung phony accusations of fraud at Dr. Feely. He deserves no courtesy. He should be ostracized in the field for doing something so reprehensible. Phony accusations of fraud and calling for mob action are thug tactics, and now Ian and Frank are kissing the asses of the thugs. Of course, they both also adore the idea of jailing climate scientists. Such proud Stalinist thugs these deniers have become.

We expect that from Frank, being he's so profoundly stupid, but it's sad to have watched Ian slowly devolve into a brainless Stalinist thug. Cult brainwashing has scored another victim.
