"The newspaper said possible charges stem from Hunter Biden's failure to meet filing deadlines for his 2016 and 2017 returns, and possibly $30,000 in false deductions for business expenses.

Weiss, who was nominated to his position by former President Donald Trump, also is said to be considering charging Hunter Biden with lying on a U.S. government form filled out to purchase a handgun in 2018. The gun later was found in a trash can.

Hunter Biden, when filling out the form, said he was not using drugs. That assertion, the Times said, is one "that prosecutors might be able to challenge based on his erratic behavior and possible witness accounts of his drug use around that period."

Hunter's taxes may be the keast of his worries if it is proven he had anything to do with dadfy's illegal highly classified foreign policy TS/SCI Intel reports.

Congrats. You got him for fudging his taxes. So he'll pay fines and penalties....just like any other American who gets caught fudging his taxes....except..well...:)

The lying on a 4473 charge has real teeth as far as penalties go....Not so much the tax BS as there is little wiggle room.

ATF Form 4473 makes clear, “The information you provide will be used to determine whether you are prohibited by Federal or State law from receiving a firearm. Certain violations of the Gun Control Act, 18 U.S.C. 921 et. seq., are punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000 fine.”

It's a felony if he lied and if charged there is no way to plea down to a lesser charge.....He's either guilty or innocent of lying on the 4473.

That said I don't suspect that he would receive jail time or even much of a fine if he pleads-out but he would still be someone convicted of a felony with the attendant loss of certain rights.
