Obama blames racism for his Approval ratings

Actually there were people who voted for Obama because he was black.

Just as there were people who didn't vote for him because he is black.

Just as there are people who didn't vote for him because he is a democrat.

Just like there are people who voted for him because he is a democrat.

What is sad is that they made up the majority of the voters. Had he been elected, or not, on merit or accomplishment that would be one thing but he wasn't and now we pay the price.

The problem with him bring it up is that it is a distraction from what he is doing and it divides the country and serves no purpose in him so doing.
The economy was the dominant issue that put Obama in the Whitehorse. Of course race played a part but I think the bottom line is the country wanted a change. Clinton could have won just as easily as Obama. She would have got less black votes but more white votes.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said

“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,”
After a president is elected their race or religion diminishes in importance compared their actions. We judge candidates on their beliefs, race, religion, associations, wealth, and political hype because we don't know what kind of president they will be. However, once we elect a president, it's primarily his actions that determine what we think about him.

When JFK ran for president, his religion was a big factor in what people thought about him. After he was elected, it was what he said and did that determined his popularity. Much the same is true with Obama. Of course there will always be people whose judgement is based on the skin color, religion, or ethnicity.

Obama's handling of the economy, healthcare legislation, the war, and his proposals are responsible for most of his positive or negative approval, not his skin color.

While I agree with you, Obama's comments on race are indeed true.

Obama and his party has done more to set back race relations in this country than anyone of the people he represents has

but that was their plan all along

create chaos, stir up race baiting, pit people against people, create one crisis after another.... etc

It's a way for them to enact their agenda on you

we have enemies within folks

please vote these snakes and party out from running our country and lives next chance you get

I don't subscribe the New Yorker so I haven't read the article and do not have the entire context of the conversation. Just quoting what I found in the link from the OP. Does he say racism is the reason his numbers have dropped recently or perhaps the number have always been skewed by the folks who really don't like him because he's black.

I just don't trust the Echo-Chamber.

The only poll that really matters happens in Nov.
You don't need a subscription and a link to the actual article itself is provided in the Bloomberg article. But I'll save you the time and effort of reading it for yourself, which you appear intent on doing anyway -- nowhere in the New Yorker article does Obama blame his low ratings on race.

You can read it here:

David Remnick: On and Off the Road with Barack Obama : The New Yorker

and in process find out that as usual nothing the rightwing inmates here are claiming is true.

For the longest time I figured he was just out of his depth. But then, when the sequester
hit and he went out of his way to close monuments that are normally open 24/7, that's when I realized that no, he's just an asshole. Just an incompetent asshole.

He did not close anything.

You base your political ideology on retarded rhetoric. The simpler, the better.

How many times have the left wingers claimed Obama's election had nothing to do with his race? Funny how race only plays a part in the Obama negatives never the positives.

Proof that you never read the article, but for some reason you feel compelled to weigh in anyway and remind us of your ignorance.

We don't need to be reminded of your ignorance.

The truly ignorant are the ones who can only name call when they can't answer a question as you prove so well so often.

Aren't his low approval ratings were Bush's fault? You mean he finally has a problem he can't blame on Bush? Maybe if he would start making decisions based on being an American instead of being some Socialist dictator he would have a higher approval rating.

TheGreatGatsby

Pull yourself away from that thriving sports bar for a sec and tell us about who brings up Bush at the USMB.

Good day.

Your claim was "race only plays a part in the Obama negatives never the positives".

Since you didn't read the article, you don't know that in it Obama said:

"...there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black President.”

See? You're ignorant. Stop being ignorant.

What did he say wrong?

everything. that is NOT the reason of the sinking ratings as his race is a constant and the amount of those who don't like him because of his race did not change as his race did not change.

The people who wanted the shutdown bitching about things being shut down.

Classic wingnuttery.

There's no evidence in the article that the President was talking specifically about the change in his approval ratings.

yes there is. the quote provided by bloomberg article is exactly that - a blame on a race.

otherwise why did he even say that?

And that quote comes out of thin air and you only quoted half the quote. Post the other half.

Why does this jackass always make it about race? He is an incompetent moron. I don't give a shit about the color of his skin.
The answer to your question lies in your avatar.

Many thanks. I clicked on the first link and that looped back to Bloomberg. So I went to the New Yorker Web site where they said I have to subscribe......

if he won't blame it on a rce he would skip the race baiting altogether.
yet he did not.

which means that is what HE blames the sinking ratings on.

it can not be his lying, incompetent decisions and abysmal management of the country in all aspects - no way, it MUST be racism

however, he did not come out the closet and suddenly become gay in order to blame it on homophobia :D his racial background did not change.
