Obama is begging for $$$: "I can't do this by myself"

Of course he would be. July 1st was an FEC filing deadline.

Every campaign, for every office, in the entire country has spent the last week begging for money.

It's July 3rd... He's still begging...

If it makes you feel better to call it "begging", that's fine. But don't try to claim that he isn't doing the same thing as every other candidate for every other seat is.

That's how politics in this country works. Candidates spend most of their time "begging" for money.

The OP is about pre July 1st fundraising, though.

Yes, but he has been campaigning for almost six years.

Obama has still raised more than twice what Romney has, in total.

Then why the hell is he crying? If he has raised twice the amount he should be way out in front, especially with the country doing as well as they are claiming.

So, you think that whoever spends the most money wins?

Maybe I'm not understanding your argument...

Hard to believe that the "Lord" is finding it hard to raise money
I agree.

One of the most disappointing aspects of the Obama presidency has been his willingness to allow the white-collar criminals who have perpetrated the greatest and boldest theft in the history of larceny to just walk away smiling. These people have stolen trillions of dollars from the American people and there hasn't been a single investigation into the events on Wall Street and in the banking industry. And Obama is asking us for money?

My guess is it's a diversionary gesture. I'm sure he will have all the money he needs to wage an effective political campaign -- and to feather his nest when he leaves Office.
Good thing your pure-as-the-wind-driven-snow Boiking won't have anything at all to do with those white-collar criminals, huh?

Because he knows it is going to take a lot more money to
sell this "bag of goods" this time

Remember their claims for raising "1 billion"
not even close

I think you might want to re-read Mike's post, Odd.

That was what Daily Beast called it in an article...

So he's going to stop begging now? I guess time will tell...

Perhaps the left just needs to dig deeper...

Really

one would think with all that money his crony capitalist and union friends
got from his Pork Bill- there would be more to give him
:eusa_whistle:

They are keeping it for themselves... like good little greedy minions :D

To be fair
the unions wasted a lot on the Wisconsin race
so there might not have been too much left over

:eusa_eh:

No doubt there has to be some "green" money still out there

That seems to be the belief of the left. That is what the left claims all along, that is why Walker won, that is the only reason the right wins, according to the left.

So?

Since when is The Daily Beast the arbiter of what is or is not "begging"?

As I said, call it begging, if you want. But don't be disingenuous and claim that it's somehow different from what any other candidate is doing.

Of course not.

He won't stop fundraising until a week before election day. If his campaign goes into debt, he'll be fundraising after election day.

Ok, so he wants your wedding present $$ and he's calling and begging wealthy donors; the only things he hasn't done is ask relatives of a deceased Democrat to send Obama's campaign cash "in lieu of flowers", or sell Girl Guide Cookies (I can't take credit for that one) or sending Democrats' children out with little UNICEF like boxes door to door for donations.

US election: Barack Obama begs donors for more as Mitt Romney rakes it in
Barack Obama has issued a plea for wealthy supporters to give him more money and stop his re-election campaign being outspent by Mitt Romney and the Republican's billionaire backers.

"In a phone call from Air Force One, the President reportedly told a group of top donors "I can't do this by myself" and urged them to open their cheque books to "meet or exceed what you did in 2008".

Noting that most had "maxed out to my campaign last time," Mr Obama told them: "I really need you to do the same this time," according to a leaked transcript.
Despite holding a narrow lead over his rival, the president informed the supporters that his ability to campaign and broadcast advertisements in key battleground states such as Florida and Ohio directly depended on their generosity.

Details of the call emerged days after Mr Obama warned supporters that he would be "the first president in modern history to be outspent" by his opponent unless donors upped their contributions.

Mr Romney and his party raised $76 million (£49 million) for their campaign in May, while Mr Obama – who had not been out-raised in five years – brought in $60 million (£38 million) with the Democrats.

And what make this hilarious is that the Dems are blaming Republicans for lack of donations to Obama.

 Libs never cease to amaze me.

Joe Trippi, a leading Democratic strategist, said Mr Obama's network of donors had been slow to realise that they could lose, thanks to the circus-like quality of the Republican party primary contest.

Really. Someone has access to transcripts of the presidents phone calls? Really? Someone on air force one? Someone in the white house? And you believe this? I had no idea you were this stupid. Thanks for sharing the fact that you are as dumb as a bag of hammers.

He had no problem trampling on the Constitution by himself, why the sudden need for assistance from others?

I never made that claim... That's a weak inference on your part...

As I said, call it begging, if you want. But don't be disingenuous and claim that it's somehow different from what any other candidate is doing.
Don't shoot the messenger... That's what they're calling it at more than one source when referencing the latest 0bama ploys... It is what it is...

You really are an idiot... Fucking read for once, you low IQ shithead:

President Obama sounded weary and maybe a tad worried late Friday during a rambling conference call with campaign donors whom he repeatedly begged to send money—and send it now.

“The majority on this call maxed out to my campaign last time. I really need you to do the same this time,” the president said in a highly unusual (and presumably legal) fundraising pitch from Air Force One on his way back to Washington from Colorado Springs, where he’d been assessing the terrible damage caused by uncontained wildfires. A special phone on the government aircraft is dedicated to political calls that are paid for by the campaign.

But you're too fucking stupid to realize that....

We'll just laugh and point at you....:clap2::badgrin:

The Telegraph isn't a good enough source for you? What media outlet would suit your fancy?

I think he's questioning The Telegraph's source, not The Telegraph.

I'm sure the source was one of the people Obama called, asking for money, not a "spy" on AF1, though.
