Obama Loses Second Bid to Implement Overhaul of Immigration - Bloomberg Business

"President Barack Obama’s bid to make overhauling immigration policy a second term victory was dealt a serious blow as federal judges ruled the effort must remain on hold while 26 states sue to overturn it.

Obama’s executive orders, which would allow 5 million undocumented immigrants to remain in the country, must be delayed until the lawsuit is resolved, the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled. The contentious case has drawn sometimes furious opposition from hundreds of members of Congress, and more than a few presidential contenders."

Looks like the court has struck down Obama's illegal amnesty move.

If he processes any more Guatemala refugees he may be guilty of not following several federal statutes, including those covering human-trafficking, criminal conspiracy, and criminal negligence.

Glad to hear it since what he's done in the job of Congress. Not the executive branch.

Hope they shitcan all that shit he wants to do on immigration.

Don't forget that the SCOTUS ruling on those executive orders on ObamaCare are due out next month, too..... There's a good chance he can lose that too!!!!!!

The ACA was enacted by Congress, but the problem lies in language of Constitutional law..., it can't be generated in the Senate on a bill...If that is the case you are referring to.. The other case is the subsidies given by the ACA to those in the program...

If true, then, it's about goddamned time !!!

Now we're talkin'...

"Obama's Immigration Amnesty Loses In Court."

This is both wrong and a lie, which comes as no surprise given the fact the OP is a liar.

The president's EO in no way constitutes 'amnesty.'

And neither the merits of the case nor the constitutionality of the policy have been review by a Federal court; the ruling today concerned solely the issue of the stay.

That so many on the right have such a propensity to lie is sad and telling.

Anything that delays implementation for additional weeks or months or years, while the States drag this out (until January 20, 2017 has come and gone) is a good thing - more like a great thing.

The details don't matter at this point... what DOES matter is stalling this Imperial Edict.

Apparently, there's more than one way to (metaphorically) skin a Failed Messiah.

The title is correct.

Obama suffered a setback in his push to rewrite immigration law.

Period.

It means he has to cease all activities till it can be properly litigated....end of story.

I think a problem just as big as one branch simply ignoring the checks and balances is coming to light. If the states cede some of their authority to the federal government under the assumption that the federal government will actually do something in the area and protecting the state's interests in the process, in this case immigration and border protection, what should the states be able to do about it if the federal government either refuses to acts or outright acts against the interests of the states?
