A shocking number of people never vote. I think Clinton probably meant well when voter motor was initiated as a way to make it easier for people to register, though registering has always been the easy part. Even those mysterious minorities manage to register even though getting a legal ID would supposedly be a hardship. Getting to the polls and waiting in line seems to turn most people off. Absentee voting has always been a necessity for our military people stationed out of the country. Now we have early voting and everything else to make it easy to vote. Despite that, only about a third of eligible voters even bother each election.
The cheaters are well aware that the majority of legal ballots issued for registered voters will go unused. There are some who just can't resist not using those ballots.
Eliminating motor voter would seriously reduce the number of names on the voter rolls because the non-voters won't bother to register and won't have their names on the rolls. It eliminates the number of legal ballots that can be misused by cheaters. Only legal registered voters will show up to use the ballots and there won't be room for massive cheating the way there is now.
All people who come in to vote should already have their names in those voter registration books. The number of ballots cast in any poll should exactly match the number of names checked off in that book.
We hear about dead people voting. That happens one of two ways. Either a family member illegally uses the absentee ballot or poll workers take advantage of it. Since Dems have fought hard to stop states from updating voter rolls, there are still many registered voters on their rolls that have either moved or are deceased. When dishonest people take advantage of the unused ballots, they must check off names on the voter rolls to indicate that the person showed up and cast the ballot themselves. Without the updates, they have no idea who is still alive or dead, so they will inadvertently check names off of people who are dead.
When checking for voter fraud, the only ones discovered will be dead people or those who voted more than once. Those instances are bad and illegal, but not the big problem. Even when dead people vote, which we know they have, there is no way to prove who cast a vote on their behalf.
We need to update those voter rolls by stopping motor voter registration and having people take time to register and update their addresses. If the voter rolls only contain legal voters who are likely to vote, it means cheating is extremely difficult. States do need to verify citizenship when people register to make sure no illegals end up on the voter rolls. That should actually be done at the time they obtain a driver's license. We must stop issuing driver's licenses to illegals that are the same as the ones for citizens.
Understanding how most cheating occurs is the first step in actually preventing it.
I would challenge any group out there to poll the voters in any county and merely ask if they voted in the last election. If a lot of them say no, yet their names are checked off in the voter registration books, we'll know who is doing the cheating.
