Perhaps Trump will do away with the VA hospitals and allow veterans to go to their local hospitals and doctors of their choice like the rest of the citizens are able to do. Many veterans reside far away from any veteran's hospital.

That program is ALREADY in place. After the Phoenix VA debacle, they came up with a new program that allows veterans who need to see a doctor that allows them to see civilian doctors if they live more than 50 miles away from a VA hospital, or if their appointment will take more than 30 days to be seen. In either case, veterans who are already registered with the VA have a card that allows them to do that. I have one.
