Our future president is holding professors accountable and eliminating lifelong tenure

Never understood the concept of tenure. What job - employment working for others - deserves lifetime employment, regardless of quality of work, etc?

Tenure used to foster rigorous discussion and debate on campuses and keep professors from being forced to teach partisan and other types of dogma.

The democrats taking over academia tenure simply protecst radical leftists preaching nothing but various types of dogma from LGBPRSQTUVXYZ dogma to Marxism and whatever disgusting things they can dream up.

If you're making a living off of the taxpayers the taxpayers should have a say over how you behave at work through our elected representatives.

Federal judges DO have tenure.....for life. Stop projecting your ignorance.
Nope. You're using that Marxist dictionary again, aren't you. Comparing professors to federal judges is ignorant. Not surprising you would jump on that.

And the governor is the authority on how educators should educate? Red states are intellectual wastelands for a reason.

What is the annual budget of the Department of Education?
The Department of Education is administered by the United States secretary of education. It has under 4,000 employees (2018) and an annual budget of $68 billion (2016).

Governors do not have that much authority when it comes to curriculum... The power comes with the $68 Billion budget and that was 6 years ago... Imagine how much power the feds have now, 6 years later...

It was put into place with good intentions to protect academics from witch hunts, essentially. The public isn't always interested in hearing the truth and tenure was meant to prevent educators from losing their jobs for having discussions or holding research on subjects that may be deemed controversial. The problem, now, is that tenure committees are the ones that have been engaging in the witch hunts. I know people who have worked in universities or in the public education system and the convention wisdom is you go along to get along to keep your tenure.
