lol

The cable news channel has been an advent defender of President Obama and his almost countless scandals, so it's no surprise that MSNBC's declining viewership follows Obama's collapsing approval ratings.

What that chart tells me is that most liberals don't get their information from MSNBC, while most conservatives get their information from Fox. And while more liberals are turning away from a partisan news source, Fox viewers are dying of old age.

Broadcast ratings don't measure "approval"; they measure attention. Fake wrestling and fires on the news get ratings; that doesn't mean anyone "approves" of fake wrestling and fires.

Btw according to the graphs in your link, it's CNN who is tanking -- and according to the second graph, revenues for MSNBC (and revenues are the only thing ratings are used for) -- are up, along with everyone else's.

So.... nice pipe dream but you have nothing to light. This means nothing to anyone outside the advertising world.

With the addition of Al Sharpton and Melissa Harris Perry one
would think their ratings would have skyrocketed due to the addition
of the black audience.

Because, like white people, black people only watch news and political analysis delivered by black people? Is that a logical statement, or is there some irrational racism behind it?

For that simpleminded allegation to have any credibility FoxNews viewership should have shown an increase instead of a decrease!

That's true too.

Some people don't get this simple truism, that broadcast ratings have nothing to do with approval or disapproval of the content on the related programs. We all followed the missing Maylasian airliner -- doesn't mean we all approve of missing airliners. Again, the only function of ratings is to set advertising rates by demonstrating how much attention that facility can deliver to an advertiser.

Fox Noise gets high ratings (within the limited framework of cable info channels) because what it does is not news, it's news theater, and theater will always outsell the real thing. In fact Fox, created by a guy who made his fortune on tabloid gossip rags, pioneered the concept of news theater as opposed to news, so it would be more surprising if it were not ahead of its competition who have, to their discredit, tried to emulate the news-as-fast-food model. Because again, that's what gets attention.

So the OP is not making the point he thinks he's making. But that's nothing new.

Apparently the black community is far more aware of their slave tactics and propaganda than they believe. Did you see them shout AL Sharpton out of Chicago last Christmas?

We actually have a poster here (won't mention his name but the initials are S.J.) who points to audience demographics that show that the Fox Noise audience is overwhelmingly white and calls them "racist".

The actual demographics are "racist". :cuckoo:

If we could run our cars on irrationality this site would be the Strategic Bullshitium Reserve.

looks like they all are in a slide

only surprise is that cnn is lower than msn. guess that means liberals got tired of not hearing lopsided cheerleading.

No, it means one network came up with a better way to attention-whore and another came up short.

That's all it EVER means. Because that's how audience psychology works.

These fantasies of trying to make a political point from Nielsen ratings are :cuckoo:
