Gee, if this were some right wing group, they'd be out there cracking heads. I guess this means that the police there are worthless, don't do their jobs, aren't worth paying for, and the Proud Boys and other groups ought to just go down to the police station there and simply do like BLM did last year, just take it over, rout the place, and destroy it. Empty it out of the worthless public donut-eating employees.

Portland has simply conceded their city to the psychopaths in Antifa.
And the mayor and governor simply sit on their thumbs and let lawless savages rule in the
absence of any law and order at all.

Yes...but what is the root of the 'wokeness'? Who, or what are the progenitors of it? What schools of thought? No one ever asks that.

Fake news.

What the PC ACTUALLY said was that the cops won't intervene if RIOTERS want to bash one another's heads in.

what is being done to protect residents from the Proud Boys? This proud boys gang is running amok in our cities. Must worse than crips and bloods. What is being done to stop them?

Uh..well...no--that's not the stance articulated by the Portland Police in the Press Release by the Portland Police Dept..A number of things to note..Antifa or the Proud Boys are not mentioned by name. There is a clear warning that police will not be able to protect a citizen in the middle of the crowd, along with a warning not to engage with the other side. There is the promise of arrest and prosecution, even if intervention is not 'in the moment'.
In conclusion, I'd not depend on the Postmillienial.com to give any sort of balanced viewpoint. The Post Millennial
Actual Press Release OP article is based on:

This is our main message: if you are planning to come down to instigate fights with those you disagree with, don't come," said Chief Chuck Lovell. "You should not expect to see police officers standing in the middle of the crowd trying to keep people apart. People should keep themselves apart and avoid physical confrontation."
If people do engage in violent activity or property destruction, they are risking arrest and prosecution. The Portland Police Bureau is prepared to monitor this event and may make arrests for crimes when resources allow. That does not always happen in the moment. In past such events, we have consistently conducted follow-up investigations, made arrests, and forwarded cases to the Multnomah County District Attorney for prosecution. Just because arrests are not made at the scene, when tensions are high, does not mean that people are not being charged with crimes later.
To prepare for this potential incident, Chief Lovell has canceled days off for most sworn personnel and available PPB personnel will be working. PPB will not be discussing tactical planning specifics prior to the weekend. Our goal is to be able to respond to life safety events while still providing response to emergency calls for service citywide. Depending on the scope of the events Sunday, there may be a need to divert more resources downtown. If that happens, it may delay police response citywide, especially for any call that is not a life safety emergency.

Why would he? The "police" and Antifa are on the same side in Portland, and they have been since the beginning.

AS this is all about the demonstration yesterday..Let's see how it all turned out, shall we?

Sunday's competing protests came on the anniversary of a clash that grew violent between right-wing and leftist crowds in downtown Portland, where a succession of street demonstrations last year followed the murder of George Floyd, a Black man, by a Minneapolis police officer on May 25, 2020.
The clashes resulted in the shooting death of a right-wing protester, 39-year-old Aaron Danielson, on Aug. 29.
The suspected shooter, Michael Reinoehl, a 48-year-old self-declared anti-fascist activist who provided security for Black Lives Matter protesters, was shot and killed by police in Washington state last Sept. 4 as they sought to arrest him.

Will the Portland police intervene to protect the community against the Proud Boys and other gangs or will the Portland police allow a gang take-over?
