I never knew the U.S. Postal Service had a Department of Irony.

A U.S. Postal Service worker from Manhattan was busted for allegedly injuring an employee of a Financial District salon during a violent ado over her hairdo.

Rachel Meyers, 26, allegedly hurled a curling iron stand at a stylist at Century 27 Beauty Salon on Friday while pitching a fit over what she thought was slow service, according to the salon’s manager.

"Everything turned into a ruckus. Everyone turned into animals,” said the manager who said she found Meyers' abandoned mail cart outside the door.

Meyers was collared by police nearby, with her hair described as still wet but puffed like an afro.

She was charged with four misdemeanors, including assault, and was released without bail with an arraignment on Saturday, court records show.

You must admit though, she's got great hair.

Does credit to the uniform and the Postal Service.

Good to see young people in government service caring so much about their appearance.

Isn't there a Postal Service merit badge for misdemeanor assault? Her career is on the fast track now.

Next time non postal workers experience slow service, can they assault people and break things?
